**Summary:**
As a member of a global drafting department - you will manage the creation, revision, and storage of electronic drawing files for custom designed process equipment located in numerous worldwide Corning manufacturing locations.
Primary responsibilities include taking ownership of a preliminary mechanical drawing package (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD) from an engineering or development team, reviewing the work for technical accuracy, and completing all remaining tasks to complete the drawing set prior to release into the system (Autodesk Vault). This includes ensuring that all components are captured in the 3D model and drawing package, drawings are technically accurate, follow ASME standards, and follow all Corning specific drafting standards.
Directing the work of 1-2 contract drafting resources may be required to help complete assigned tasks.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Complete 3D models and 2D drawing packages turned over from engineering teams
+ Review drawing packages for standards compliance and correct as required
+ Manage drawing package release and revision via Engineering Change Request process
+ Assist engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel in locating relevant process equipment drawings within the drawing database
+ Assist resolving drawing issues during equipment fabrication, assembly, and installation
+ Participate in developing new standards, policies, or procedures to improve current processes
+ Train and coach new drafting resources on standards, processes, and procedures
**Experiences/Education - Required:**
+ A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree or equivalent **OR** at least 1 year of experience in the mechanical/drafting field
+ General Windows-based computer skills
+ Able to adapt to company standards and guidelines
+ Strong work ethic
+ Strong attention to detail
**Experience/Education - Desired:**
+ 0-5 years professional experience in the mechanical drafting field

  • Performs difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, accuracy and drafting expertise.
  • Provide assistance or guidance to Velux Wells engineering and/or 3rd party PE Firms working to resolve redlines, on complicated jobs that may require nontypical structural solutions
  • Uses both 2D and 3D software to redesign, modify or edit drawings.
  • Provide swift innovate and practical solutions, for complex issues, directly resulting in maintaining promised lead time times.
Scheduled Work Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday - Friday)

  • Associates degree in CADD or a related field or Equivalent Professional Experience
  • Minimum of Five years' experience in field of expertise is required

+ Current possession of a US Government Secret security clearance required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
+ HDI and sequentially laminated printed wiring board layout, routing and documentation techniques.
+ ASME Drawing Standards
+ 2 plus years of Cable design experience using Zuken E3 or equivalent tool set for design and documentation
+ Zuken E3 schematic capture and wire connection lists for use in cable assembly documentation as well as participate in connector selections. Knowledge of MIL series 38999 and 28840 series connectors is beneficial
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $91,000 - $135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. We'll expect you to:

Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to produce quality drawings.

Make drawing edits based on mark ups from client and/or Engineers.

Create and/or modify base drawings.

Be relied on as a productive team member and CAD user to work a typical set of project documents from beginning to end with professional quality output that conforms to company or client standards.

Be able to work on multiple projects at the same time.

Follow CAD standards and process Required Credentials.

A general understanding of BIM software styles and functionality.

Here's what you'll need:

5+ years of CAD experience in AutoCAD and MicroStation

Ability to work well both independently and as a team

Attention to detail, quality work products, and client service

Experience with MS Office 365 (Email, Excel, Word), PDF editing (Acrobat and Bluebeam)

Experience with Open Plant P&ID (OPPID) is a plus
