What to expect
We at Gotion are seeking highly-skilled and motivated Equipment Technician's to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in installing and maintaining the optimal performance and reliability of our diverse range of equipment. You will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on machinery that incorporates mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
What you'll do:
- Installation & Setup: Install new equipment, ensuring proper configuration and integration with existing systems. This includes mechanical assembly, electrical connections, and pneumatic system setup.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, utilizing your knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic principles to identify root causes.
- Repair & Maintenance: Perform a wide range of repairs, from basic component replacement to more complex system overhauls. Conduct planned preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety. Suggest modifications or upgrades to enhance performance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Prepare reports and documentation as required.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures. Ensure equipment operates in a safe and compliant manner.
- Education: Associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical, industrial, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year hands-on experience as an Equipment Technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing/production environment.
- Essential Skills:
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of mechanical principles, including power transmission, bearings, gears, and hydraulics.
- Electrical Knowledge: Ability to read electrical schematics, troubleshoot circuits, and work safely with electrical systems (including AC/DC, motors, and control systems).
- Pneumatic Systems: Basic understanding with pneumatic components (valves, cylinders, actuators) and their operation.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills to identify and resolve equipment issues effectively.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time, hourly position is between $30 - $33 per hour plus benefits and overtime on occasion with reasonable notice.

Position Overview

We are responsible for all the process mechanical equipment on a project, from concept through installation and commissioning.
This individual will serve as a Responsible Engineer (RE) handling highly complex, large equipment packages performing complex to difficult engineering assignments.
- Manage a team of approximately twelve (12) mechanical engineers on a project (domestic and international)
- Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects
- Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including manpower forecasts
- Review and approve vendor lists, quotation requests/bid tabulations/purchase orders and review substitutions for technical acceptability
- Identify deviations in job scope, estimate magnitude of changes, and initiate trends or change orders
- Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines

Executes project plans, provides input to Make/Buy decisions and partners with Procurement to meet program schedule, cost and quality targets.
Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Leads gated reviews and develops plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance and spares.

Aid engineers or technicians with returning equipment to production
Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.
Provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Creates and implements maintenance workshops with production and maintenance personnel

Learns activities required to lay out work, set up appropriate equipment and area, and efficiently perform the assembly of customer equipment to meet or exceed production requirements per design specifications and published schedules. Learns to efficiently utilize resources to minimize scrap, materials, and labor.

- Stock locations, and store excess material properly in a timely manner.

- Learning to successfully perform equipment pre- and main assembly and installation of all major systems, per required specifications, as defined below:
- Perform Preassembly and General Assembly for all product groups, including knowing Vacuum and Atmosphere product nomenclatures and assembly particulars of equipment; cleaning and preparing components prior to assembly; and identifying/using correct types of seals, vacuum grease, silicon seal, gaskets, sealants for gas or pneumatic systems, pipe dope, Teflon tape, etc.
- Perform Tank Assembly by setting up, placing and leveling vessels or chambers, assembling and installing external components, and installing door seal inflater assemblies.
- Perform Pump Assembly by preassembling and installing mechanical pump and blower assembly and diffusion pump and poppet assembly, as well as correctly identifying pump oils and changing system to meet specifications as needed.
- Install all fittings and components for the Water System Assembly .
- Assemble and install panels and associated valves for Pneumatic Air Systems .
- Connect water, gas, air, and exhaust systems to support Equipment Testing.
- Perform Equipment Teardown Procedures , including disconnecting temporary utilities and storing materials; marking/tagging components and interconnecting systems such as pneumatic, water, air, etc. to aid in the reassembly or installation of equipment; flushing water from system and charging with antifreeze; thoroughly inspecting and equipment and reporting discrepancies, repairing as required; and removing componentry from unit in preparation for painting.
- Prepare Equipment for Shipment by reinstalling all water hoses and air systems tubing/hoses as required.
