We are looking for a Mechanical Repair Technician to join our Laboratory Support Team in Northbrook, IL. If you are a go-getter with hands on experience in hydraulics, this could be a great role for you! This role is fully onsite Monday-Friday!
+ Reads blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, measuring instruments, and operational instructions to provide support for testing activities.
+ Evaluates laboratory support activity results and may review data for conformance with specifications.
+ Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.
+ Responds to user requests to repair and/or modify existing laboratory instrumentation, automated systems and test fixtures.
+ As applicable, records observed or calculated data on appropriate UL forms as the record of laboratory support activities.
+ May plan laboratory support activities, and evaluate results, as directed.
+ Performs routine maintenance on existing laboratory instrumentation, automated systems and test fixtures using established procedures.
+ Ensures both new and existing test systems meet safety requirements and compliance with the local laws.
+ May procure equipment or materials/supplies on behalf of the laboratory.
+ May support training of others on the use of laboratory instrumentation, automated test systems, test fixtures and/or laboratory infrastructure.
+ Assists in developing annual budgetary goals, capital expenditure budget for laboratory equipment, and tactical plans for the assigned laboratory section.
+ Operates a computer to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.
+ Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
+ Designs and builds test fixtures.
+ Read and follow the UL Standards of Business Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices
+ Performs other duties as directed.
+ 2 years of formal education with Associate Degree or certification as a technician through acknowledged organization.
+ Generally, 4 Years or more of related experience or demonstrated competency.
+ Ensures customer convenient solutions meet both customer and company needs.

Pay Transparency Verbiage :
Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $51,600 to $68,700 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).

Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Repair Technician responsible for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of aviation components in accordance with specified requirements. **What You Will Do:**
- You will participate in the company's continuous improvement and environmental, health and safety activities and initiatives.
- You will understand and deliver on individual and departmental established performance goals. Work closely with supervisors and other support personnel to resolve problems.
- You will enter and retrieve information from our operating (SAP) system to perform daily activities
- You will demonstrate safe work habits and maintain neat and orderly work area
- You will follow specific instructions and use all required equipment to perform assigned work according to FAA and company regulations Interface with customers (government personnel or auditors) as necessary Inspect and disposition components and modules.
- You will rework/ repair, scrap, and replace/order components, modules, and LRU'S as required
- You will assemble, disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all types of manufactured electronic accessory components as required including testing.
- You will check clearances, tolerances, and alignment, making necessary replacements and adjustments to assure conformance to specified configurations Record data to accept or reject criteria to approved maintenance data Identify proper parts with part number and serialization
- You will verify electrical continuity, insulation resistance testing, and dielectric testing of elector mechanical devices
- You will independently follow through on job assignments, resolving questions and problems.
- You will support and participate on the site's EH&S, Quality, and HR Employee Engagement initiatives and programs.
- 1st shift 7:00 am - 3:30pm; Monday to Friday

**Qualifications We Prefer:**
- Minimum 4-6 years of work experience in the aerospace industry
- A&P license
- Experience with soldering or IPC certification
