Objective: The Mechanical Systems Assembler puts together liquid handling and fluid purification products. This person will perform mechanical assembly, piping, electrical wiring, and testing functions following both blueprint and verbal instructions.
Accountable For:

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Systems Engineer supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment contract, at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, TN. This Mechanical Engineer will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for maintaining and sustaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary
An exciting career opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead system engineering and configuration management efforts in our High Temperature Laboratory test facilities. This position is a mix of office work and time spent in the field working with our test operations engineers and skilled craft workforce.
Job Duties:
This position provides the following engineering services:
- Develop, document, and complete maintenance procedures, mechanical systems operating procedures, sequence of operations, advanced troubleshooting, system optimization, and energy conservation
- Update and maintain system documentation for systems of responsibility
- Analyze spare parts inventories, determine and track needs, and provide organization of spares
- Determine and develop processes for taking parts out of service that are past their life or out of tolerance in the Module Refurbishment Shop and on other high use rebuildable equipment
- Determine accuracy of drawings, field revisions, NORs, and sketches and work with Branch designer/drafter to correct
- Evaluate spare parts storage, heater module refurbishment processes, and factors contributing to contamination of heater components
- Evaluate equipment in the field for improvement, determine deficiencies, improve reliability for increase testing throughput
- Work with reliability engineers to develop maintenance schedules based on condition and health of equipment and ensure supply of materials required to maintain equipment is available when needed to prevent equipment failures
- Perform root cause failure analyses and other equipment performance analyses when systems or processes fail and recommend remedial actions
- Conduct and write up system safety hazard analyses and write clear work instructions
- Responsible for safe operations and maintenance of associated support infrastructure and test facilities
- Respond when systems malfunction during a test as needed, troubleshooting and directive corrective maintenance activities ensuring a timely return to service
- Develop estimates for small improvement projects and test projects
- Work with multiple organizations such as design engineering, planners, schedulers, craft supervisors, fabrication shops, DoD client, and other contractors
- Assist skilled craft with troubleshooting and oversee their work; provide leadership and guidance
- Communicate clearly and utilize various methods of communication
- It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of 3 years' systems engineering experience at AEDC
- Must be able to maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network
- Due to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC

- Experience in systems engineering including understanding of importance of configuration management and elements required to maintain good CM practices

We invite you to join the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team as an Embedded Systems Engineer (ESE). The role of the ESE is to partner with the FBM Propulsion, Structures, Ordnance, and Controls (PSOC) Subsystem Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to shape the design, development, and production of modernized PSOC subsystems.
Specific job duties of the PSOC Embedded Systems Engineer include:
- Develop/analyze/verify subsystem and package/box level requirements
- Support and lead multiple design trade studies to optimize the design for performance and producibility
- Define and document key internal and external interfaces. Perform related combability analyses
- Coordinate with customer and other contractors to develop key test artifacts including test requirements, plans, objectives and to support the development of test procedures
- Coordinate activities with domain experts across subsystems, SEIT, and special disciplines
- Organize/coordinate subsystem level technical reviews including TIMs, SRRs, PDRs, etc

**Basic Qualifications:**
- Prior education or professional experience in mechanical engineering technical disciplines
- Proficiency in Systems Engineering including requirements development, interface definition, integration, and/or subsystem test
- Experience in mechanical design or analysis
- Experience coordinating across multi-functional organizations
- Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
**Desired Skills:**
- Top Secret Clearance
- MS Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and/or Project
- Experience with DOORS or DOORS Next
- Experience with, or on, the FBM program, working with the Navy, or Submarine exposure is highly desired
- Self-starter, able to complete work without appreciable direction

**Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. **Pay Rate:** The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
