Job Description
Repair and Tool Technicians are responsible for the evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. This position makes equipment recommendations and ensures that units are maintained. Technicians work in both our stores with Tool Rental Centers and in our repair centers. In a store, technicians will be expected to provide service to store customers in Tool Rental which includes writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, checking to make sure tool is operating properly and demonstrating its proper use (as needed). In addition to supporting customer repair needs, they are also responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. In non-store locations, technicians will ensure units are repaired, tested for the quality of the repair and cleaned prior to returning to the store where the repair originated. Technicians must have a thorough knowledge of all tools and must effectively manage the tool inventory by maintaining the tools and repairing them as necessary.

The **Mold Repair Lead Technician** will oversee a team of repair technicians who are responsible for the restoring damaged molds to their original condition and modifying molds that need alterations due to engineer modifications. For success in the position of Lead Technician, it's essential to work closely with both management and clients. This collaboration will enable the setting of priority repair schedules and the identification of the most effective services needed for repairs. The ideal candidate would be able to diagnose mold conditions and perform necessary repairs, including small hand tools, drilling, welding, peening, buffing, sanding, mill usage, lathe usage, sand or CO2 blasting. This position requires the candidate to abide by standard work procedures and job safety requirements to meet quality expectations for all output produced. To be successful in this role, it's crucial to possess a keen eye for detail, self-motivation to complete tasks timely and the capability to take direct, hands-on action. The mold technician role may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending and working at heights to complete daily tasks.

- Interacts with customers to keep them informed of status of vehicles, repairs needed, etc
- Inspects and tests equipment for mechanical defects, and replaces worn parts.
- Removes, replaces, adjusts, or cleans defective parts or components
- Flushes radiators and replaces anti-freeze solutions.
- Perform oil changes, check fluids, diagnose tread wear, replace batteries and trouble-shoot problems. Performs engine tune-ups.
- Utilizes appropriate techniques and procedures in accordance with manufacturer's specification in armoring vehicles as directed.
- Based on assignment independently installs new vehicle equipment, such as radios, sirens, wire cages, lights, etc.
- Identifies necessary parts, equipment and supplies needed to complete repair or preventative check.
- Responds to emergency road calls for disabled vehicles and makes minor adjustments or has the vehicle towed for back for repairs.
- Road tests vehicles during and occasionally upon completion of maintenance/repair work.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and smell. Frequently lifts items weighing 40-45 pounds and occasionally in excess of 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, or may include unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.

Minimum Requirements:
- 1 year minimum experience in the problem diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a wide variety of light, medium, heavy and/or specialized automotive equipment, other heavy equipment, and FAV vehicles.
- Must have a valid and current state driver's license.
- Must be knowledgeable of gasoline and diesel vehicle preventive maintenance programs.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to interact at all levels of management and with subordinate team.
- Excellent record of safety operations and working knowledge of safety standards for motor vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
- Considerable knowledge of the operating systems used in motor vehicles and equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of the practices and tools used in the maintenance and diagnostics of vehicles and equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of computer, electrical, transistorized and other non-mechanical systems and how they tie-in with and affect the operation of mechanical systems.
- Considerable knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, test procedures and practices used in the repair and preventative maintenance of fleet and training vehicles.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to read technical manuals, references and specifications.
- Ability to write routine correspondences, maintenance logs and order forms.
- Ability to operate a forklift, power tools, wrenches, diagnostic equipment, and jacks.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule multiple tasks.
- Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals.
- Ability to manipulate and use hand tools and hydraulic equipment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
- Passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check is required.
- Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check (NAC) within 60 days of hire if required
- Must be available for any shift. Willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
