Job Summary:
The Mechatronic Engineer A actively participates in the conservation of the plant related machinery by performing and coordinating electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic corrective, preventive and inspection procedures, improve machinery and processes while paying special care on Personnel Safety and Food Safety Standards.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Develop and test all aspects of mechanical and electro-mechanical components for automated food production equipment.
- Control, Electric, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting up to 480VAC.
- Design, develop, and test all necessary automation programming on PLC.
- Utilize AutoCAD software for computer-aided design of machines and components.
- Work on machine tools, material handling systems, and industrial production equipment used in food processing.
- Integrate new and improved components into mechanical equipment.
- Design and Implementation of continuous improvement projects.
- Preventive and Corrective maintenance as well as inspection activities.
- Identifying areas of weakness in the production line or finished products and making recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain downtimes due equipment failures as low as possible.
- Work order follow up.
- Documents result of activities in corresponding Formats.
- Comply with local Food Safety Standards and other standards adopted by the Company.
- Comply with personnel safety regulations and other standards adopted by the Company.
- Keep constant communication with other areas such as production, quality control that led to increase in quality and efficiency of the whole process plant.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of Electrical Testing Equipment.
- Knowledge of Metric and Imperial measuring systems and conversions.

V2X Engineering is seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN supporting development of a diverse set of mission critical products including advanced airborne systems, podded communication link and sensor systems, armament equipment, suspension and release equipment, cutting edge system integrations, radar systems, cockpit displays, avionics, and more. Our Indianapolis facility also supports a variety of other product lines serving multiple Department of Defense (DoD) customers providing the opportunity to work on a diverse set of programs and roles supporting the continued advancement of your career.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design of new products and test hardware, as well as the improvement of existing products. The engineer will utilize their mechanical engineering expertise during the proposal and concept generation phase, product development, production, and qualification testing phases of new product design. The engineer will have the opportunity to design creative solutions that meet product requirements. The engineer should be familiar with 3D modeling and drafting, and able be hands-on supporting production, integration, and testing. The engineer will develop solutions which leverage commercial off the shelf (COTS) products paired with custom hardware. The engineer must be a resourceful researcher engaging vendors, manufacturers, and SME's regarding design decisions. The engineer will take part in design reviews at both part, subsystem and system level including Peer Reviews, DFMAs, PDRs, and CDRs. The engineer will work closely with systems, electrical, test, and production engineers.
In addition to their technical skills, the ideal candidate leverages strong verbal and written communication to adapt to a wide variety of high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
