**SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** **:**
The Mechatronics Technician is a multi-craft position that performs troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, and repairs on industrial equipment and facilities.
**REPORTING TO** : Maintenance Manager
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Works as a multi-craft (mechanical, electrical, controls) technician in an industrial environment, supporting production equipment and the facility in general.
+ Actively participates in EHS programs and adheres to policies and procedures.
+ Demonstrates IDEX values (Team-Trust-Excellence) in all daily actions and interactions.
+ Aids in the installation and commissioning of equipment upgrades and new installations.
+ Documents their activities in CMMS system as well as through written and verbal communication.
+ Supports production by performing maintenance and reliability activities on manufacturing equipment utilizing mechanical, electrical, and controls skills.
+ Performs basic facilities repairs and maintenance as needed.
+ Write maintenance troubleshooting/repair procedures and PMs.
+ Proactively works with production, engineering, purchasing and safety resources to resolve issues and execute the business plan.
+ Participate in continuous improvement activities, root-cause analysis, recommendations on facility and equipment design requirements and performance teams to improve processes, efficiency, quality and service.
+ Able to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

**BASIC REQUIREMENTS:**

+ High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of multi-craft industrial maintenance experience **OR** AAS technical degree.

+ Ability to read and interpret drawings, technical instructions, codes, standards and specifications.
+ 1 year of experience working with industrial automation and controls equipment (PLC, HMI, I/O, etc.)
+ Good written and verbal communication skills.

+ Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
+ Knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
**PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS**
Listed below are the preferred requirements for this position. A candidate may meet one or more of these requirements.
+ AAS Degree in a technical discipline plus 2 yrs. experience as a multi-craft (mechanical, electrical, automation/controls) maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment OR High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of multi-craft (mechanical, electrical, automation/controls) maintenance experience.
+ 1 year of experience working with HMIs, PLCs and automation software. Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley hardware and software preferred.
+ 1 year of experience working with building automation systems and HVAC equipment.
+ 1 year of experience working with predictive maintenance equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate units using schematics diagrams, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), and other documents such as Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and customer Engineering Orders.
- Inspect and test Mechanical Aircraft Components to identify defects and wear and tear areas.

About the Role
As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more

Front Half Day Shift:

Hours: Typically, this shift might start in the morning and end in the late afternoon. For a 10-hour shift, this could be 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a half-hour break included.
Back Half Day Shift:
Schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off. Often, this shift could be Wednesday to Saturday to complement the Front Half Day Shift.
Hours: Like the Front Half Day shift, this shift would also occur during daytime hours. Depending on your downtime windows, a typical schedule might be from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a half-hour break.
Front Half Night Shift:
Schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off. The days can be arranged as per your needs, such as Sunday to Wednesday.
Hours: This shift would occur during the night. For example, it could run from 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM, with a half-hour break.
Back Half Night Shift:
Schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off. To complement the Front Half Night Shift, this might run from Wednesday to Saturday.

Basic Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience
- 2+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment experience
- 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics experience
- 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience
- 1+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- Able to troubleshoot basic input and output function of building operations
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Willingness to learn and grow within Amazon RME
- Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards
- 2+ of experience working with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based controls systems
- 2+ year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles
- Experience with robotic operation and maintenance
