- Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital's mission and vision statement.
When acting in charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity and the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

Job Summary:
This job is responsible for evaluating, administering, addressing and documenting a variety of respiratory therapy treatments to ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients, with heart and lung abnormalities, in assigned hospital, to include intensive care and the emergency room. Work includes: 1) setting up and monitoring a variety of complex respiratory equipment such as volume and pressure ventilators for critical care patients; 2) performing routine respiratory therapy treatments such as oxygen, therapeutic aerosols, intermittent positive pressure breathing, incentive spirometer, and airway care to include intubation/estuation and tracheotomy care; 3) monitoring patients for adverse reaction and taking corrective action based on established procedures; and determining the effectiveness and/or need for change in the therapy being administered and making recommendations to the physicians regarding treatment.
Incumbents are also accountable for providing resuscitation services, participating in various orientations, providing educational/orientation services to students, quality improvement and department projects, providing and maintaining skill levels to reflect the ever-changing procedures and techniques of respiratory care.
Essential Job Duties:
* Performs respiratory patient care to include Aerosol Therapy, ABGs, ETTs, Bronchus, ECGs, CPT, Vent Care, CPAP/BIPAP therapy and other Respiratory Care Procedures in accordance with all department safety, risk management and procedural standards.Continually evaluates and assesses the cardiopulmonary condition of patients using data acquired from physical examination, respiratory monitoring, and diagnostic equipment.
* Continually evaluates and assesses the cardiopulmonary condition of patients using data acquired from physical examination, respiratory monitoring, and diagnostic equipment.
* Documents all work activity in applicable computer system to include billing charges in accordance with department specific processes.
* Participates in the transfer of equipment and supplies to and from other Cardiopulmonary Departments as necessary; cleans, assembles and maintains CPS equipment and restocks supplies as needed.
Qualifications
Education/Work Experience Requirements:
Requires graduation from an approved school of Respiratory Therapy and one (1) year recent clinical experience in Respiratory Care that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities. Work experience in the specialty area is preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
* License to practice as a respiratory care practitioner through the Washington State Department of Health required.
* Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board of Respiratory Care required
* Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
* Respiratory Therapists currently working in hyperbaric medicine will attend a Certified Hyperbaric Training course within 90 days and will be required to obtain the Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) within 120 days.
* New hires in Hyperbaric Medicine, upon completion of the 90 day introductory period, will attend the Certified Hyperbaric Training course. After completion of the course, and an additional 480 hours of on-the-job training, will be required to obtain the Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) license.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Acute Care Nurse
The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital's mission and vision statement.
When acting in charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity and the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.
What you will do in this role:
* You will assess plans and evaluate the patients care needs and will carry out physician orders.
* You will administer prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs.
* You will monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
* You will instruct and educate patients and families as part of part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.
* You will identify nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient and plan individualized patient care utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.
What qualifications you will need:
* Registered Nurse from accredited school of nursing
* Current Licensure with Tennessee Board of Nursing
* Current BLS
* One year of registered nurse experience required
* Acute Care RN experience preferred

Position Summary
This position has responsibility for the management of patient care provided by department personnel. RN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of the departmental patients in order to ensure that patients and families receive an optimum level of care. RN must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Applies the nursing process to a group of patients. Evaluates outcomes of patient care, consults with other disciplines as required and adjusts the plan of care as necessary to ensure optimal service

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- RN Licensure in the State of Texas, with an Associate's degree required and a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- 3-5 years clinical experience preferred.
- BLS, ACLS certifications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Basic computer skills
- BLS
- ACLS will need to be obtained within 30 days of DOH

This is a 36 bed acute care unit that is a great place to prepare you to perform at the top of you degree. Cares for a variety of patients with chronic and acute illness while specializing in peritoneal dialysis. This unit works closely with other department leaders to get you to your desired specialty.
