Job Goal: To supervise and instruct students on all functions and aspects of using the library.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Knowledge of library operations and terminology
- Experience with library record keeping, book repair, and library technology, including circulation software
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, including the creation of documents for library operations
- Effective communication skills, especially as a liaison with staff and in dealing with classes in the Library
- Must pass a background check
- Must obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., be able to exert 25-30 lbs. of force frequently, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Ability to walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, and to sit for long periods of time
- Must obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Term Of Employment: 190 days; 10 months
Compensation: Per QCUSD salary schedule for applicable position

Reports To: Principal
Hours: 20 hours per week - Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Classification: Hourly, Non-exempt
Performance Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and community.
- Circulate materials to students and staff.
- Purchase and process new materials and maintain the collection.
- Maintain and update shelves as needed, including daily shelving.
- Track and collect fines for lost or damaged materials.
- Repair materials as needed.
- Train staff and volunteers in use of library equipment.
- Distribute and track the use of equipment to staff as necessary.
- Implement at least one Book Fair per school year.
- Track and circulate all textbooks.
- Instruct classes in library usage, research, literature, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

To partner with the Library Media Specialist in the administration of the library media center program, and to assist in the organization, utilization, and maintenance of library media resources.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for book check-in and checkout
- Responsible for the check-in of student devices for repair, as well as checkout of loaner student devices
- Assist with basic technology troubleshooting for students
- Assist with logistics related to book fair events, physical presence in the library, pull teacher requests
- Creating and assembling displays
- Assists in the maintenance of library materials, equipment, and facilities for effective and efficient utilization and circulation
- Assists in cultivating an atmosphere that invites students to visit the Library Media Center for classroom and personal reading, communicating, and learning

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Experience working in a school environment preferred
- Strong background in computer and information technology
- 60 College Credit Hours with paraprofessional license
- Experience with school libraries/technology
- Ability to speak a second language is preferred
EVALUATION: As per the current collective bargaining agreement
Employment Terms/Hours: 7 hours/day; five days per week
