Summary: The main function of a specimen processor is to perform specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operation procedures.
Job Duties/Responsibilities: Introduce and prepare biological specimens to the laboratory to ensure accurate processing. Open specimens and pour off into secondary containers to prepare for analysis and testing. Verify patient demographic information matches the test requisition form submitted. Data entry of patient information into the computer system for tracking purposes. Meet key production metrics and quality measures to ensure timely and accurate results. Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas. Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities when required. Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples. Resolve and document any problem specimens. Handle and dispose of medical and chemical waste. Comply with applicable environmental health and safety policies and procedures. Operate automated instrumentation under supervision if necessary
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous medical or production experience is preferred. Proficient computer and typing skills. Standardized color vision test must be administered to evaluate if potential accommodation is needed for worker. Comfortable handling human biological specimens including blood, urine and tissue samples. Ability to lift up to 30lbs, work in protective equipment and sit/stand for long periods of time. Strong eye hand coordination in order to accurately identify specimens by touch and sight. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. High level of attention to detail with the ability to problem solve. Strong communication skills; both written and verbal. 0-2 years of work experience.

**Responsibilities**
Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).
+ Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.

Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

- Education: MS degree in social work from an accredited school of social work approved by the Council of Social Work Education
- Licensure: Current state license as a social worker
- Experience: 2+ years of clinical work experience, preferably in healthcare or hospice
- Required: Reliable transportation. Ability to sit, stand, bend, move intermittently and lift at least 25lbs and bear the weight of an average adult effectively.

Benefit options and eligibility vary by position. Compensation varies based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, performance, location and salary range at the time of the offer.
Perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation.
- Set up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
- Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
- Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of imaging procedures.
- Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
- Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
- Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
- Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
- Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following required:
- Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Sonography Tech credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical certificate/degree required.
Cardiac Registry or Registry Eligible preferred.
