General Responsibilities:
- Greets all patients in a professional and welcoming manner
- Assists with the completion of the assessment process of patients including but not limited to the following: height/weight, vital signs, and current medications for infoscriber.
- Administers injections, observing the Six Rights of medication administration
- Communicates effectively with the physician/CRNP regarding the patient's physical and mental condition
- Interfaces with the multi-disciplinary team
- Reports laboratory results to the physician/CRNP
- Responds to patient phone calls in a timely and appropriate manner

- Updates patient medical records as needed
- Assists in arranging laboratory services

- Provides emergency care as needed (CPR, MindSet, etc.), according to the AltaPointe Policy & Procedures

- Effectively demonstrates the application of MA competencies
- Ensures all releases are obtained and scanned into P.O.S. timely and accurately.
- Makes copies, faxes documents and performs other related clerical duties as needed.
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.
- Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
- Process radiologic film.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
- Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to Practice Manager or supervisor. Perform related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, labeling films and film envelopes and maintaining procedure logs.
- Retrieve radiologic orders from and input related data into the electronic medical record. Maintain adequate radiologic supplies.
- Adheres to their credential's professional code of ethics and to all 5 Star Customer Service Guidelines when dealing with Leadership, Practice Manager, CRNP/Physician, Team Leader, co-workers and patients
Additional job duties depending on location may be as follows:
- Distributes prescriptions from the doctor/CRNP/PA to the consumer.
- Assists with the patient assistance pharmacy forms as needed, which includes communicating with the consumer regarding proof of income.
- Completes admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
- Coordinates appropriate services for consumers in crisis.
- Distributes Daily DSR reports.
- Performs relief for other staff members.
- Assists with and works with all organization personnel involved with any aspect of release of protected health information to ensure full coordination and cooperation under the organization's policies and procedures and legal requirements
Supervision and Consultation:
- Seeks clinical supervision and consultation needs
- Accepts and employs suggestions for improvement
- Actively works to enhance clinical skills
Clinical Record Keeping:
- Documents in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policy
- Documentation shows that forms, notes, logs, and other applicable written information are completed promptly, accurately and updated when appropriate
- Documents legibly
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possesses and maintains current certification for a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
- ARRT certification required within six months of hire, if not already acquired, and previous radiologic technologist experience preferred.
- Must have highly professional verbal and written communication skills, withstand continual deadlines, and concentrate and maintain accuracy despite frequent interruptions.
