Assist physicians at assigned long term care facilities with audiology, optometry, podiatry care, and behavioral health. Main duties include maintaining clinical records and charts through electronic medical records, care and cleaning of medical equipment, and supporting provider.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:
- Assist doctor in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Completes chart prep on scheduled patients prior to every visit.
- Verifies and maintains current and accurate clinical records, charts and medical history through electronic medical records during patient visits.

- Accurately posts charges to the appropriate provider in a timely fashion.
- Works in a medical office capacity provided by the facility.
- Responsible for all care and cleaning of medical equipment at the end of every visit.
- Maintains medical supplies inventory by auditing stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies.
- Manage resources by preparing supplies with minimum waste or need for duplication.
- Ensure all medical equipment is working properly by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following manufacturer's instructions.
- Responsible for clean-up of service area used facility upon departure of visit.
- Able to multitask, be detail oriented and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ensure a positive experience for our patients.
- Communicate effectively with all patients, family members, providers, faculty, and staff.
- Provide timely responses to patient inquiries; document conversations in the EMR.
- Requires travel up to 100% of the time to and from assigned medical facilities.
- Actively supports and complies with all components of the compliance program, including, but not limited to, completion of training and reporting of suspected violations of law and Company policy.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information; abides with HIPAA, OSHA and PHI guidelines at all times.
- Reacts positively to change and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School education or GED.
- Must have own reliable transportation, good driving record and car insurance.
- Must have completed and passed a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test.
- Good computer skills required.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to follow directions and listen to needs of patients and doctors.
Physical Demands:
Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires standing, walking, pushing and stooping on a periodic basis. Lifting requirements vary depending upon specialty division hired for (Audiology and Vision: less than 50 pounds, Podiatry: minimal lifting). Must be able to push patients in wheelchair. Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range. At times, requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. At times, requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

The primary function is to travel with our health care professionals to clinics in area nursing homes and long-term care facilities to ensure that residents are receiving the podiatry care they need.
Arrive before the doctor to get the clinic set up. Check-in with facility, confirm room #'s, location and scrub the schedule actual vs. scheduled residents.
- Transport patients to and from the exam area in the building.
- Assist with doctor with preparing the patient for foot exam (removing shoes/socks etc)
- Substantial amount of drive time (up to 2 hours each way)
- Assist the doctor with administrative duties as necessary (updating charts, etc).
This position covers a home market which includes driving up to a 3-hour radius. For locations greater than 2.5 hours, the company offers overnight lodging and meals. Mileage reimbursement is included, as well as paid time for all driving that exceeds normal commute time.
This is a part-time position working in Johnson City, TN area. You would be working for 4-5 days out of the month. Interested candidates must be able to work in these locations and with this schedule.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a caregiver or within a nursing home setting is a plus.

The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) provides specialized and expert administrative patient support while working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary, coordinated care delivery model. There are various specialty sections within the Business Office program areas. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 29, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be October 18, 2025. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled. Duties include but not limited to:
- Works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery environment (i.e., patient aligned care team, or other specialty care.
- Coordinates with the patient care team to review the clinic utilization by using various reports (e.g., Clinic Utilization Statistical Summary).
- Ensure that the clinic setup is closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the clinic, and make any necessary adjustments.

- Serve as the designated physician and advanced practice clinician supervisor for Occupational Medicine clinics, onsite programs, and Business Health team members, unless otherwise provided by other physicians.
- Serve as the Medical Review Officer ( MRO ) for the program. MRO duties include, but are not limited to, receiving and reviewing laboratory results generated by an employer s drug testing program and evaluation of medical explanations for certain drug test results; interpreting forensic drug testing results in the context of a regulatory and policy framework; and assisting companies with medical monitoring of OSHA Regulated Chemicals, oversight of laboratory tests to monitor employee exposure limits over a period of time and making medical evaluations/recommendations to prevent continued exposure in the workplace.
- Supervise the medical review process and substance abuse testing programs throughout Tennessee and Virginia, to include supervision of the Medical Review Officer Assistant ( MROA ).
Education/Experience:
- Valid and active Medical Licensure in TN and VA
- Valid and active Board Certification for Occupational Medicine
- Medical License free of sanctions from any healthcare entity and payer.
- DEA clear of any restrictions or recent sanction
- DOT and MRO certifications required; others may be needed as market needs shift
- Five years minimum clinical experience
Knowledge/Skills Abilities:
Self-motivated, strong communication and analytic skills, ability to communicate with all levels and recommend decisions in a timely manner, excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
