We are expanding our team to serve the needs of our community in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri area! Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce an opening for a Medical Assistant/LPN (MA/LPN) for our Richland Clinic!

ResponsibilitiesAs designated by the Medical Director within the bounds of the licensing authority. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains medical supplies inventory and performing preventative maintenance to keep medical equipment operating.
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; and keeping patient information confidential.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventory stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance and calling for repairs.
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, and meets attendance/punctuality requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be CPR certified or become certified during probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with COMC. Must maintain CEUs as directed by COMC.
Education and/or experience: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program. Experience with an electronic health record is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.
Mathematical Skills: Knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft office.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Other Skills and Abilities: Strong phone etiquette and excellent customer service skills.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 50 pounds of weight.
Travel Requirement: To fulfill the responsibility of the position travel to all COMC locations will be required. Employee should have valid Missouri driver's license. Overnight travel may also be required in specific incidences of training, conferences, etc.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Knowledge of, and compliance with, HIPAA and 340B regulations is required. Confidentiality of patient information is mandatory.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

About the Position: This position is located at Fort Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Duties
Help
- Perform a wide variety of medical laboratory examinations and procedures.
- Manage patient results status by verifying and certifying results input into laboratory computer system.
- Perform a variety of tests for patients to include severely anemic, leukemia and oncology patients.
- Utilize automated equipment to determine the biochemical characteristics of bacteria and fungi.
- Operate automation systems to log and track blood donor units.

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Microbiology, Chemistry, or Clinical Laboratory Science.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
AND
Certification: This position has a selective placement factor which must be met prior to employment and for continued employment. Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT) or other board or registry deemed comparable by Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (OASD(HA)) or their designee as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is required.

General Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes to licensed nurses.
- Perform basic care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility activities.
- Operate within hospital policies to support quality outcomes and patient safety.

Mental/Physical Requirements
This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching.
Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
