Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant, you will be a part of the Clinical Care Team engaging with our patients to develop lifelong well-being and health. The Medical Assistant role makes a difference in the patient care we offer and assists physicians and other clinicians by providing a unique blend of skills and knowledge to carry out prescribed medical treatment. Medical Assistants are multiskilled health professionals responsible for performing administrative and clinical tasks in our primary care facilities while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining positive patient engagement.

Job Functions
  • Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
  • Manage the provider's schedule to ensure efficient workflow
  • Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
  • Room patients and healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
  • Perform specimen collection and point of care testing
  • Prepare and administer medications under the direction of healthcare providers
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures
  • Maintain established quality control standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a Medical Assisting program
  • Current CPR certification

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish proficiency

**Position Details:**
+ Per diem, mobile-based role with flexible scheduling

**Key Responsibilities:**

Baptist Health Medical Assistant

Works under the clinical supervision of the practice physician(s) and clinic supervisor/manager and is responsible for assisting the physicians in the practice. Assists in examination and treatment of patients, rooms patients and obtains information, measures vital signs (i.e.: pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, pulse oximeter, pain level, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts/Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Also collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Serves as a mentor and helps train new medical assistants regularly and consistently. Estimated pay range for this position is $19.44 - $25.27/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications:

Degrees:

  • High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Paramedic.
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Registered Medical Assistant.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must have at least one of the above required licenses/certifications (MA, CNA, LPN, EMT, Paramedic).
  • Medical Assistants with a Certificate or Diploma of Completion of a Medical Assistant training program hired after 7/1/16 or foreign Medical Doctor with a foreign medical doctor diploma hired after 5/1/17 will have up to 6 months from start of employment with BHSF to obtain Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Effective 11/3/17, a Foreign Medical Doctor with a Foreign Medical Doctor Diploma will no longer be qualified to be hired in the Medical Assistant role.
  • BLS required for all.
  • For Primary Care Practices, EKG and Phlebotomy Certifications are also required for employees with the CNA license only.
  • CNA, LPN, EMT license must be from Florida.
  • Must be a professional, organized detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Possesses compassionate demeanor, excellent customer service skills and high ethical standards.
  • HIPAA/OSHA compliance required.
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment efficiently.
  • Proficient in computer applications and typing skills.
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines and Medical Terminology a plus.

Minimum Required Experience: 1 year MA experience preferred.

Position Overview
  • The Medical Director provides clinical leadership and medical oversight for all aesthetic and wellness services at both practice locations.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal medical regulations and upholds the highest standards of patient safety and care.
  • Acts as a collaborative leader, supporting the aesthetic and medical staff through education, supervision, and consultation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical oversight for all cosmetic, laser, and wellness treatments.
  • Supervise and support licensed professionals performing injectables and laser procedures.
  • Review and sign patient charts, treatment protocols, and consent forms as required.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations for medical spa operations.
  • Conduct chart audits and quality assurance reviews regularly.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety, compliance, and patient satisfaction.
