As a Medical Assistant at knownwell, you will play a key role in delivering patient-centered care by managing clinical tasks and supporting the broader healthcare team. • Manage patient flow: Facilitate transitions between reception, exam rooms, and check-out, ensuring seamless care.
• Assist with clinical tasks: Take vitals, gather patient history, triage, and assist with clinical procedures.
• Support patient follow-up: Ensure records are updated, review test results with providers, and communicate with patients as needed.
• Coordinate care: Manage patient medication prior authorizations, and assist with outgoing referrals and scheduling.
• Perform administrative tasks: Support scheduling, patient check-in/out, insurance verification, and other administrative needs when needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in primary care, specialty care, metabolic health, or weight management.
• Experience with prior authorizations and referrals is a strong plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems (Athena experience preferred).

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Under the direction of the clinic supervisor, the Medical Assistant will be responsible for receiving patients, preparing them for their appointments, and assisting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional care. Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Room Preparation: Prepare patient exam rooms and equipment using aseptic and sterile techniques to ensure a safe and clean environment.

Medical assistants will work in medical clinics and hospitals. The position offers first shift openings, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an hour variance on starting and end times.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.50/hr.

Under the direction of the clinic supervisor, the medical assistant is responsible for the receiving of patients, preparing the patients to be seen by the provider, and assisting the provider as requested in the delivery of care to the patient. The medical assistant works with patients and is knowledgeable with regard to the clinic's patient education program and provides educational materials to the patient when appropriate. The medical assistant is also responsible for the maintenance of supplies and equipment.

Completes any required appointment prep process in advance of the patient's scheduled appointment.

Routinely and appropriately prepares exam rooms for patient appointments and potential procedures.

Maintains an even patient flow that enables provider to maximize treatment time and patient volume.

Rooms the patient and gathers any required information and vitals from the patient per the provider's preferences.

Documents patient care information in the electronic health record accurately and timely.

Performs basic treatments and procedures as well as administers medication accurately, completely, and safely as ordered by provider and according to approved procedures. Demonstrates competence with specific clinical skills. Demonstrates familiarity with clinic/hospital policy and procedures.

Schedules any necessary follow-up appointments/tests, informs patients, and answers patient questions regarding these appointments/tests.

Maintains a knowledge level regarding services provided by the provider and takes time to answer patient questions regarding these services in a sincere and courteous manner either in person or by phone.

Provides instructions/educational materials to patients appropriate to their needs and follow-up/discharge instructions. Feedback indicates communication is positively perceived and is clear, concise, relevant, and understood.
