- Records laboratory tests and processes laboratory test results
- Follows up on TB and Immunizations
- Updates EMR with test results and checks results against the lab test log
- Completes medical and laboratory supply inventories for all exam rooms and labs
- Sterilizes instruments
- Experience with electronic health record preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
- Interacts with colleagues and patients in a professional manner
- Possess excellent communication skills
Requirements

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proof of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program

Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Preparation : Assist with preparing patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring they are comfortable and well-informed.

- Administrative Duties : Perform office procedures and general administrative tasks; proficiently operate office medical equipment.
- Quality Assurance : Oversee compliance with quality assurance programs, CLIA waived laboratory requirements, and patient result trackers.
- Travel Requirement: Support staffing and operational needs by traveling to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Education & Certification: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Experience: 1+ year of healthcare experience preferred (urgent care or ER a plus); willing to train outstanding new graduates

The incumbent is responsible for a wide range of assignments and provides advanced scheduling support to the Behavioral Health sections of the Medical Center and CBOCs and is an integral member of the outpatient clinic team to effectively carry out day-to-day administrative operations of the clinic.
Duties at this level include, but are not limited to:
* Coordinates with the patient care team to review clinic appointment availability (utilization) to ensure that clinic schedules are closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the clinics and makes adjustments as necessary.
* Utilize numerous advanced patient systems in support of multiple clinics involved in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model.
* The A/MSA screens/receives phone calls in a courteous and timely manner, determines the nature of request and provides the information desired using privacy rules and established clinic processes.
* Schedule all appointments with the patient's input, either in person or by phone.
* Maintains patient confidentiality with information, per HIPAA requirements.
* Daily review of active/pending consults.
* Setting priorities and deadlines, adjusting the flow and sequencing of the work to meet team and patient needs.
* Enters appropriate information into the electronic record; monitors pre-appointment information and/or requirements to assure readiness for patient visit/procedure; manages patient systems to verify and validate accuracy and resolve issues.
