Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Patient Services Representatives, Front Office Coordinator, Practice Operations Manager, and the Practice Administrator in support of delivering expert medical care to our patients. Day-to-day activities will vary from greeting and interacting with patients, collecting patient intake information, returning phone calls, responding to fax correspondence, performing point-of-care testing, setting up exam rooms and preparing for surgical procedures as well as assisting with surgical procedures all while executing our goal to provide first-rate patient care. Overall, the Medical Assistant has a direct interaction with patients and is an integral component in helping deliver our mission of bringing state-of-the-art expertise and patient care to our clientele.
Qualifications:
- Scribing experience is a must
- Must be able to travel to Conway, Myrtle Beach, Litchfield, Dillon, Sumter, Charleston, Mt. Pleasant
- Completion of a technical/vocational training school program with either CMA, AAMA, RMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification -OR- Emergency Medical Technician certification; as well as a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
- Medical Assistant experience or the equivalent thereof in a high-volume medical setting with the ability to read, write and interpret medical terminology.
- Scheduling flexibility to be able work morning/afternoon/evening hours four to five days per week as needed.

Working Conditions:
- Reliable, independent transportation is required for travel to various office locations in Litchfield, Myrtle Beach and Conway.
- Required to move from one location to another within and outside of the building; push, pull and reach; bend; stand for long periods of time; and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to work 8-10+ hour shifts and be available for overtime as needed.
- Must be able to speak and write English fluently.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Education:
- Certificate in clinical field preferred, but not required.
- Current CPR, ALS certificate.
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience healthcare related field in clinical Medical Assistant role preferred.

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of clinical processes and principles.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, practice protocols and standards, HIPAA and OSCHA policy and requirements
Skills:
- Skill in documentation of patient care including reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail as related to patient care.
Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly with many different levels of staff.
- Ability to make sound clinical judgements decisions and weigh risks.
