The client's Safe Haven Shelter and Transitional Foster Care Program is a 24-hour program that serves unaccompanied children (UCs) in immigration custody who are awaiting release to their sponsors. The Lead Medical Coordinator is responsible for the oversight, coordination and provision of medical and mental health care of the children in the program including initial medical examinations, screening for infectious
diseases, dental screening when applicable, and immunizations while providing hands-on triaging support for children on a day-to-day basis. The Lead Medical Coordinator is classified as an essential worker, and as such accepts responsibility for the completion of their critical services to clients, on site, even during times of emergency. These include, but are not limited to, emergencies caused by weather, nationwide pandemics, civil unrest, and domestic threats.
- Oversight of Safe Haven’s health services as well as coordinating the provision of timely, appropriate health services for children in care.
- Ensure the coordination of a complete medical examination, including a screening for infectious diseases, as required by ORR within 48 hours of arrival.

- Research and develop new partnerships within the community.
- Work in collaboration with other departments, including but not limited to the Case Management Team, Clinical Team, Foster Parent Team, Education Team, CCW Team and Quality Assurance Team, to ensure the coordination of care and program functioning.
- Provide supervision and support the professional development of the Medical Coordinators and RNs via individual supervision, team meetings and in-house training.
- Complete Payroll Change Notices for Nurse and Medical Coordinators’ changes, separations, and new hires.
- Review resumes, conduct interviews and complete hiring packages for Nurses and Medical Coordinators.

- Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken for staff performance issues, in consultation with management team members.

# Project Overview:
Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States by far enough to power 1 million electric vehicles per year. As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team contractors engineering and building the facility. We are also managing procurement of about 1 Billion in goods and services. Earth work began in 2023 and design and procurement of long-lead equipment is underway. The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno. Planned with sustainability and the environment in mind, the facility will use its excess process heat to generate electricity and will recycle process water up to seven times. Once the second phase of the project is complete, Thacker Pass will produce more than 16 times the current U.S. output of lithium. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Medical Coordinator serves as a vital support role for our medical team, providing comprehensive administrative and clinical assistance to mid-level and physician-level providers in our ASAM Level 2.1 and 2.5 addiction treatment programs. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administrative Support
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to mid-level practitioners (NPs, PAs) and physician-level providers
- Create and maintain weekly provider schedules for client appointments and medical consultation
- Coordinate and manage appointment rescheduling, cancellations, and urgent add-ons
- Maintain accurate documentation of provider schedules and patient flow
- Educational Support
- Provide medication education groups to clients

Clinical Preparation and Support- Prepare providers before client meetings by reviewing charts, gathering relevant information, and organizing necessary materials

- Provide oversight and coordination of medical care for the Caminos shelter program, including the delivery of high-quality services in accordance with regulatory timeframes to ensure that youth are provided with safe and supportive programming.

- Produce a daily resident appointment list and ensure all staff are aware via email and hard copies in staff mailboxes.
- Audit, track, and schedule required physical, vision, and dental appointments.
- Response for the initial training and renewal process for non-medical staff to be certified by the State in medication administration, including completion of purchase orders.
- Organize and maintain resident medical charts, physical and electronic, utilizing program required agency and federal databases.
- Update and file patient medical records, including retrieval and copies of medical records necessary for staff reports and outpatient services.
- Assures completeness of documentation for the clients and for associated nursing functions such as the MAR, nursing screening exams, PPD screens, vaccinations, vital signs, laboratory logs, peer reviews and other quality initiatives, nursing sick call screens, consultations and referrals, in service training, and other activities of the healthcare suite.
- Ensures completeness of documentation of medical services provided to clients as required in federal and state databases, including the completion and submission of medical serious incident reports.
- Responsible for timely submission of Treatment Authorization Requests, or other forms required for reporting and billing purposes.

The client's Safe Haven Shelter and Transitional Foster Care Program is a 24-hour program that serves unaccompanied children (UCs) in immigration custody who are awaiting release to their sponsors. The Lead Medical Coordinator is responsible for the oversight, coordination and provision of medical and mental health care of the children in the program including initial medical examinations, screening for infectious diseases, dental screening when applicable, and immunizations while providing hands-on triaging support for children on a day-to-day basis. The Lead Medical Coordinator is classified as an essential worker, and as such accepts responsibility for the completion of their critical services to clients, on site, even during times of emergency. These include, but are not limited to, emergencies caused by weather, nationwide pandemics, civil unrest, and domestic threats. Duties include the below:
-Oversight of Safe Haven's health services as well as coordinating the provision of timely, appropriate health services for children in care.
-Ensure the coordination of a complete medical examination, including a screening for infectious diseases, as required by ORR within 48 hours of arrival.
-Provide appropriate staff and foster parent training on medical, dental, medication administration and public health topics relevant to pediatric, adolescent, and migrant health.
-Develop and maintain policies and procedures for confidential health record management.
-Provide triaging of health concerns, medical emergency response, environmental health and safety, and post-release health care planning/care coordination.
-Oversee the administration of medication, and administer medication, as needed.
-Monitor the provision of medical care for children in UAC program as well as document all follow-up recommendations and services.
-Ensure that all entering female UAC will undergo pregnancy screening and family planning services in accordance with ORR policy.
-Communicate all special diets. allergies and medication regimens for UAC to the appropriate party, monitoring and facilitating medication administration.
-Monitor referrals for specialty care, dental care, and mental health services, including ensuring immunization provision according to CDC catch-up schedule.
-Obtain and maintain up to date medicals, dentals when applicable, and prescriptions on all medical records.
-Provide billing support to new medical, dental and mental health providers to ensure timely submission of billing and receipt of payment.
-Serve as a liaison with medical, dental, mental health, and pharmacy providers and document interactions for appropriate reporting to ORR.
-Research and develop new partnerships within the community.
-Work in collaboration with other departments, including but not limited to the Case Management Team, Clinical Team, Foster Parent Team, Education Team, CCW Team and Quality Assurance Team, to ensure the coordination of care and program functioning.
-Provide supervision and support the professional development of the Medical Coordinators and RNs via individual supervision, team meetings and in-house training.
-Complete Payroll Change Notices for Nurse and Medical Coordinators' changes, separations, and new hires.
Review resumes, conduct interviews and complete hiring packages for Nurses and Medical Coordinators.
-Approve timecards, changes in schedule, and monitor staff attendance.
-Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken for staff performance issues, in consultation with management team members.

EDUCATION:
-Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a bachelor's degree OR Higher health-related qualification (e.g. Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner)
EXPERIENCE:
-Minimum of 1 year of employment in public health or a healthcare setting with demonstrated experience in care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical care.
-Experience in pediatric medical setting (preferred). Bilingual in Spanish
