Schedule

Shifts: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts (after 1st week of training). Rotate weekends (usually every 5th weekend); no call required.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for this critical access hospital assignment. The successful candidate will be proficient in microbiology, performing gram stains, culturing, and conducting blood cultures. Proficiency in phlebotomy and blood bank testing is also required. The candidate must adhere to Covid regulations, including the use of PPE and working in isolation rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing and analysis in accordance with established protocols.
  • Conduct microbiological assessments, including gram stains and culture planting.
  • Complete blood bank testing accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health standards related to Covid-19.
  • Multitask effectively and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently and communicate effectively with team members.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Graduated from an approved Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Technician program.

  • Appropriately engages with and supports patients based on therapeutic best practices.
  • Appropriately and accurately documents in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • As needed, schedules patient appointments.
  • Identifies and resolves work problems to ensure quality patient service.
