What Will You Get To Do?
Medical Collectors and Patient Account Reps are responsible for:
- Contacting patients for uncollected accounts requesting payment and setting up payment plans.
- Contacting insurance companies/payors for payment information and updates.
- Ensuring the maximum number of contacts are made on a daily basis and documenting accounts appropriately.
- Using a worklist report to determine a follow-up schedule for contacting patients and payors regarding outstanding accounts.

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Medical Director with a background in Cardiology, Nephrology or another specialty to lead our integrated clinical care model, centered around primary care coordination and outcomes-focused specialty collaboration .
The ideal candidate will provide both clinical and administrative leadership across a multidisciplinary team-including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurse case managers -to ensure seamless coordination of care. This role is designed to support optimal patient outcomes by reducing avoidable hospitalizations, unnecessary emergency room visits, and preventable readmissions .
The Medical Director will champion primary care integration , clinical quality, and a strong referral network to build a high-performing care continuum in our community.
Position Highlights:
- Lead and expand a comprehensive, team-based care model that bridges specialty and primary care.
- Supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurse case managers to drive population health outcomes.
- Guide efforts to reduce unnecessary specialty consultations by empowering frontline providers through decision support and collaborative case review.
- Promote equitable care delivery through targeted outreach to underserved communities.
- Play a central role in strategic growth planning , including network development and care pathway optimization.
- Enjoy a structured 4-day workweek with protected administrative time to provide leadership, oversee quality metrics, and deliver structured feedback to the team.
- Deliver both clinical services and administrative oversight in outpatient and consultative settings.
- Oversee provider workflows and coordination between specialty care, primary care, hospitalists, and emergency services.
- Implement and evaluate clinical protocols to align with evidence-based best practices.
- Support provider scheduling and coverage planning in both clinic and hospital settings.
- Facilitate structured team feedback, provider rounding, and multidisciplinary case review meetings.
- Drive continuous improvement through data-driven initiatives targeting utilization, quality, and access.
- Serve as a clinical liaison with strategic partners, payers, and health system leadership.
- MD or DO with board certification in Cardiology, Nephrology, Internal Medicine, Family Practice or another specialty
- Active Georgia medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- 2+ years of clinical leadership or administrative experience
- Strong knowledge of managed care, quality metrics (HEDIS, NCQA), and population health principles
- Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Reporting to the Regional Medical Director, the Medical Director (M.D. or D.O) is integral to Quest Diagnostics vision of empowering better health with diagnostic insights. The position acts as the chief medical quality officer upholding high quality of laboratory testing. The Medical Director is passionate about providing medical direction, consultation, and guidance to all levels of the medical and laboratory staff and interacts with laboratory operations, quality assurance, logistics, patient services, customer solutions, accrediting/regulatory agencies, administrative officials, the medical industry, customers, and patients. The Medical Director regularly interfaces with executive level physicians and administrators in hospitals and health systems. The leader is an active participant in the discussion of strategy around business growth, medical quality and evolving customer needs toward improved healthcare. The Medical Director contributes to the business by ensuring the success of others through developing, motivating and coaching direct/indirect reports.ResponsibilitiesThe daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing consultations to clients about medical significance of laboratory data and results, and correlation of data to contribute toward Patient Care (diagnosis and patient management). Be a medical resource for discussion with internal/external contacts. Evaluate Business Unit date using relevant tools together with the Business Unit Quality Improvement staff for client inquiry, unexpected test/population shifts. Ensure that appropriate, timely laboratory facility audits occur to ensure optical quality systems. Research and Development Responsibilities. If appropriate, plan and direct research and development appropriate to the facility. Plan/develop/direct the correct experimental design for problem-solving. Become involved with BPT development, testing and validation of a new assay/service. Participate in the development and execution of Quality Assurance and Improvement Plans. Evaluate performance with staff and re-define using the external/internal systems/tools available (e.g., blind testing performance, Care360 Reports, Cognos, Datamart, InterLab QC, PBViews, Medical Report Reviews/Audits (internal/external), monthly QA/quality meetings, Positivity Rate Distribution Program (PRDP), Proficiency Testing Performance, Reportable Quality Incidents, Weekly/Monthly QC Review). Assure enrollment in Proficiency Testing (PT) programs, and that PT is performed according to CLIA/CAP guidelines and develop alternative assessments where PT are unavailable. Assess failures and near-misses. Serves as an active member of the business unit leadership team. Develops community presence and external relationships.
