Responsibilities
  • Partners with the RN and other healthcare team members to achieve patient care outcomes and goals of care, as identified in the plan of care. 
  • Performs specific tasks as directed by the RN and other healthcare team members per competency education. Consults and seeks out guidance from RN and/or other healthcare team members, as appropriate and when completing new or unfamiliar tasks or duties.  
  • Obtains, records and/or accurately enters data into the EMR, as identified in the PCT scope of practice.  Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care. 
  • Verbally presents factual, concise, and timely information and/or patient care data to the RN, the healthcare team, patients and/or family members in a professional manner.  
  • Telesitter (applies to PCTs who have requested to learn this skill and Resource PCTs): Demonstrates understanding and proficiency of the use of the telesitter software.  
  • Maintains visual observation at all times.  Verbally redirects patient over digital 2-way audio device that is in patient room.  Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance. 
  • Hand-offs will be done with attention to detail and with safety as a high priority.  Hand-offs are utilized to communicate patient treatment and assessment information, patient education needs, goals of care and other quality care measures at each change of caregiver or setting of care. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections; reporting potential or actual concerns immediately. 
  • Maintains responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients. 
Qualifications
  • Completion of nursing assistant or equivalent course. 
  • Six months of nursing assistant experience preferred. 
  • This position does not get reported with Direct Care Workers (DCW). 
  • Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. 
  • Multicultural sensitivity.

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT's skills/training and the needs of the Department and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.
**Your responsibilities will include:**
+ Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth procedures and recovery
+ Providing non-medicated care like dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
+ Keeping patient areas, operating rooms, and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
+ Managing supplies, equipment, and environmental logs to keep the team ready and protect patients through infection control
+ Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team while promoting safety and quality efforts
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

The Patient Care Tech works under supervision of the professional nurse, assisting in performing specific duties and activities of daily living in caring for age specific groups identified in the position responsibilities.Adheres to the AdventHealth Orlando Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Performs properly and legibly documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
Participates in obtaining a nursing history. Reports abnormalities to RN.

Performs treatments according to policy and procedure. Provides patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity and culture.Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
Qualifications
