Monday thru Friday 8am-4pm

- $.16 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- 2.00 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am

Position Summary
The Transporter provides patient and non-patient transportation, in collaboration with nursing staff and co-workers. Transporters work alongside nursing staff and lift-trained co-workers in coordination of lifting, repositioning and transportation for immobile, geriatric, handicapped and bariatric patients.
As a Transporter for Asante you will have the opportunity to:
- Demonstrate excellent customer service by informing patients and families where the patient is being transported and estimated time of return
- Exercise patience, understanding and compassion when working with patients and families
- Promptly respond to pages and communicate when a transport is completed
- Perform environmental safety checks when entering or leaving the patient's room
- Communicate using key words and phrases to assure patients understand staff concerns for their safety and well-being
- Respond to codes within the hospital in a prompt and quick manner
Education
- High School diploma, preferred
- BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon start
This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis - such as transferring a patient in and out of a bed. The ability to bend, stretch, twist and perform other awkward physical movements is also required.
