Registered Nurse position will perform specialized nursing and medical treatment and deliver care to developmentally and intellectually disabled individuals, many who are also medically fragile. This position carries out nursing care plans based on the diagnoses and pertinent medical information and individual needs. The Registered nurse will independently carry out the nursing care process and will set up an environment to assist individuals in obtaining maximum level of functioning and/or recovery. They will administer medication, participate in interdisciplinary team process, assist in coordinating care for the individuals and work closely with the medical doctors, psychologist, social worker, recreational therapist, dietician and other professionals to assist the individual in meeting their maximum potential for independence and function while providing the best quality of life possible.

Housekeepers at BMNTC have responsibilities in various areas of the facility including:
Client Living Areas:
This position will include sweeping and mopping hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms and dayrooms using the appropriate disinfectants and cleaners to enhance the overall appearance and sanitation of the client living area. These duties will be performed at least daily, but more often as needed. Carpeted areas will be vacuumed daily and spot-cleaned at least once a month. All carpets will be thoroughly cleaned using an approved method for the area. Cleans bathrooms daily by disinfecting toilets, sinks and tubs. Wipes down walls, clean mirrors and replaces soap and paper products. Cleans vents of accumulated dust, picks up trash, and cleans trash containers as needed. Takes out unit trash from basement areas and off resident units. Removes dirty linen cages off resident units and places in proper storage area. Heavy lifting is required in performing this job.
Office Areas:
Sweeps and mops office areas once a week or more often if necessary. Spot cleans and vacuums carpets. Daily picks up trash, cleans receptacles as needed. Dust furniture with a cloth treated with an appropriate dust-control chemical. Spot clean walls, doors and electrical switch covers.
Miscellaneous Duties:
Cleans windows when assigned, inside and out, more often as conditions require. Always keeps on hand the cleaning supplies and paper products for assigned area. Attends training classes, including new employee orientation and other required training. Reports to supervisor immediately any safety or sanitation hazards present. Assists in other support service areas as needed.

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to both Alzheimer's and Developmentally Disabled populations.
