Job Description

Position Overview: Join a dedicated clinical laboratory team in the Pacific Northwest region as an ASCP Medical Lab Technician. This full-time role involves performing a variety of complex laboratory tests including chemical, microscopic, serologic, hematologic, immunohematologic, parasitic, and bacteriologic analyses to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate proficiently across all clinical laboratory areas such as blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, urinalysis, and coagulation.
  • Stay current with emerging testing methods, instrumentation, and technologies.
  • Perform microbiological plating and staining procedures with precision.
  • Conduct high-complexity testing and correlate results with clinical diagnoses, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare personnel when encountering unusual test findings or technical difficulties.
  • Identify and report medical or healthcare errors promptly, assisting in resolution to ensure patient safety.
  • Communicate critical laboratory values to patient care units and physicians in a timely manner.
  • Manage laboratory equipment safely and adhere strictly to infection control and standard precaution protocols.
Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
Certifications & Licensure:
  • Certification or licensure as a Medical Lab Technician in Hematology, Chemistry, and/or Blood Bank by ASCP or an equivalent credential.
Professional Requirements:
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability in completing assigned work within designated timelines.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, treating patients, guests, and colleagues with respect and courtesy.
  • Uphold the mission, ethics, and goals of the healthcare organization.

Compensation & Benefits: Compensation typically starts between the beginning and midpoint of the salary range, with annual incremental increases.
