Position Purpose:

The Medication Technician (Med Tech) is responsible for storing, administering, and dispensing medications to residents at the Crocker Site, a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE), in strict accordance with state regulations and facility policies. The Med Tech maintains accurate medication records, observes and reports any changes in residents' conditions, and helps ensure a safe and healthy environment for all residents. Program Population:

Crocker Residential Care is a licensed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) that provides 24/7 non-medical care and supervision to adults aged 60 and older living with chronic health conditions. Our program offers a home-like environment with support for activities of daily living (ADLs), medication reminders, and a focus on social engagement and independence.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Accurately pour, prepare, and administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with care plans and physician orders.
2. Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration, including medication logs and incident reports when necessary.
3. Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions, and promptly report concerns to the supervising nurse or administrator.
4. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), when needed, to ensure resident comfort and safety.
5. Track medication inventory levels, ensure timely reordering, and report any discrepancies.
6. Safeguard medications in accordance with facility policies and California RCFE regulations.

Requirements:

• Assists with resident laundry, as necessary.
• Notifies Housekeeping team members of spills and soiled areas of carpets and furniture; assists with clean-up as needed. If no Housekeeper is on duty, cleans up spills and soiled areas immediately.
• Assists in cleaning walkers, wheelchairs, and other resident equipment, as needed.
