Position Summary

Teach and supervise the learning of junior year, baccalaureate nursing students in mental health nursing both lecture and clinical settings.

Qualifications

* Holds appropriate degrees from accredited colleges or universities:
* Masters degree or higher in nursing, or
* Bachelors degree in nursing with a Masters degree in nursing or a related field.


* Holds a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington.
* Has current clinical experience of at least three years in the clinical subject area being taught.

Compensation

Based on highest applicable degree earned, the compensation range per credit is $1,194 - $1,366 (credit load ranges from 3-7).

Regis University is seeking Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing Clinical Affiliate Faculty (CAF) to facilitate mental health clinical rotations in the Denver Metro area. CAF are part-time employees hired to teach specific clinical rotations and are responsible for supervising students in patient care environments. CAF collaborate with the Loretto Heights School of Nursing and the assigned health care facility to provide an exceptional clinical learning experience for pre-licensure nursing students.

Work will be completed in the Denver Metro area.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Orientation:

• Familiarize yourself with course objectives and clinical outcomes
• Attend course-specific orientation to plan the implementation of the clinical experience
• Orient to the clinical facility and clinical units where students will be assigned
• Complete computer training at clinical facility if needed
• Communicate with students at least one (1) week prior to start of rotation
• Orient students to the nursing units

Clinical Teaching:

• Follow all course clinical guidelines and expectations as outlined in course syllabus
• Develop a student schedule with unit assignments and other learning experiences
• Make patient care assignments for students
• Evaluate student's clinical preparation through the examination of preparation sheets, nursing care plans, and/or other documents to determine the student's clinical preparedness
• Supervise students in patient care experiences with special attention to the outcomes of the Clinical Competency Tool (CCT)
• Coordinate observational learning experiences for students at the clinical site as well as in simulation
• Hold a clinical conference with students to facilitate the integration of learning experiences as appropriate
• Be available for students to provide teaching and evaluation on a continuous basis during the assigned clinical time
• Provide ongoing and appropriate on-site clinical instruction and supervision for each clinical experience as well within the pre- and post-clinical simulation
• Maintain professional relationships with clinical staff in each site and area

Student Evaluation:

• Utilize the clinical log form to document and provide feedback on student behaviors and progression towards meeting clinical objectives and outcomes
• Utilize the CCT to provide student feedback at mid-rotation and at the end of the clinical rotation
• Consult with course faculty on a weekly basis and as needed throughout the clinical rotation to anticipate and solve problems and ensure effective teaching/learning experiences
• Notify course faculty promptly regarding student issues, including, but not limited to, student tardiness, absences, critical incidents, illnesses, student emergencies, or other incidents that may indicate actual or potential performance issues
• Grade the clinical project/paper (if applicable) according to the criteria outlines in the course materials
• Submit all student papers with clinical faculty's feedback, comments, and grade to the course faculty within one (1) week of the end of the clinical rotation

Working Conditions:

• The University appointment is part-time and temporary in nature and thus carries no fringe benefits
• After University appointment, hiring for clinical rotations occurs on an as-needed, limited-term basis
• Must maintain current health requirements, training, licensures, and certifications on file with the Loretto Heights School of Nursing

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must live in the Denver Metro area or surrounding area.
• An active Unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado
• Must have a Masters or Doctoral degree or have a BSN with the ability to provide a written plan with Regis and the CO Board of Nursing to obtain a Master's or higher degree in nursing.
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing practice
• Must have a minimum of one (1) year clinical experience in mental health/psychiatric nursing

Working Schedule:

• Mental Health Clinical Rotations
  
  • Occur year round
  • Are 60 clinical hours PLUS 10 simulation hours
  • Shifts are 12hours
  • Occur in a variety of clinical facilities in the Denver Metro area
  • Occur Wednesdays & Thursdays, Thursdays & Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays
  • Require CAF presence on-site at all times
  • Require additional time outside of clinical hours for grading, emailing students, etc.

FTE:

Pay Rate:

Paid per course contract

$45 - $5 per hour based on degree held.

45 per hour for BSN Lab Assistant, Lab Affiliate Faculty 50 per hour.

40 per hour for orientation hours

Benefits-eligible for workers' compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

Pay Rate:

Position Summary

Olivet Nazarene University Department of Nursing is seeking an adjunct nursing faculty member to provide clinical instruction in the undergraduate nursing program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.Help with return demonstrations of skills at the beginning of the semester.

2.Supervise students in clinical.

3.Grade weekly assignments such as journals and care plans.

4.Evaluate each student each day on department forms.

5.Meet with students at the end of their rotation to give them a final evaluation.

6.Maintain ongoing communication with level coordinator and didactic professor.

Stanbridge University is on the lookout for an exceptional faculty member to deliver clinical instruction in the field of Mental Health for our Vocational Nursing Program. Reporting directly to the Vocational Nursing Program Director, this role involves sharing your expertise and guiding students through clinical instruction that aligns with an approved course syllabus. You'll employ effective and innovative teaching methods to foster student retention and satisfaction. Additionally, faculty members play a crucial role in evaluating student performance throughout the course and ensuring that all course-related documentation is completed promptly, adhering to the university's established timelines.

Essential Functions:

• Saturdays and/or Sundays: 8 or 12-hour shifts.
• Effectively delivers clinical and/or theory instruction utilizing the course materials provided.
• Develop teaching methods and strategies to engage the students in learning and to promote clinical judgment skills in the clinical setting.
• Apply the clinical judgment model and theoretical principles to evaluate student’s clinical competency.
• Responsible for the provision of learning experiences that facilitate application and integration of theoretical principles, active participation and experience in patient care management, and observation with active participation in professional roles for nurses in the clinical setting.
• Responsible for ensuring patient safety and for the school’s compliance with policies established by the clinical agency.
• Lead as a clinical resource managing pre- and post-conferences and engaging students to reflect on their clinical experiences.
• Create and establish a professional environment that promotes student success through important characteristics of a nurse: accountability, flexibility, passion, and integrity.
• Promotes student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process.
• Responsible for maintaining and submitting accurate student grades, reports, attendance, and student feedback in a timely manner.
• Maintains current knowledge in the performance and nursing duties assigned.
• Participates in department meetings and shared governance committees.

Qualifications:

• Current and active California license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Four (4) years of bedside or clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Card.
• Previous work experience in a Mental Health setting, hospitals, and/or skilled nursing facilities.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Up-to-Date Immunization Records.
• $40-$50/hr. Salary is dependent on experience and education.

Work Environment:

• Standard office/classroom/lab or clinical setting.
• Typically, duties are performed in an office/classroom/Lab/clinical setting environment while sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
• Work environment may include skills lab or bedside environments as required by program.
• An incumbent is subject to contact with others, frequent interruptions, noise from talking or office equipment and demanding timelines.

Physical Demands:

• The incumbent regularly sits for long periods.
• Physical ability to perform the duties as assigned to the program or department.
• Proficient in operating electronic keyboards and other office machines.
• Effective verbal communication skills in answering telephones and providing information with clarity and distinctness.
• Ability to read fine print and operate computers with precision.
• Ability to understand voices over the telephone and in person.
• Able to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing between 10-25 pounds as needed.
