The goals of the program are to promote community stability by securing housing, benefits and culturally relevant treatment to meet the needs of those served, and to assist clients in developing meaningful and productive life roles. + Provide initial screenings and psychiatric diagnostic evaluations for new clients seeking services
+ Provide mental health case management and counseling/ therapy services for an assigned caseload of clients

POSITION OVERVIEW:
KIPP DC is looking for a dynamic, committed and flexible mental health practitioner to become part of a vibrant educational community. KIPP DC mental health practitioners are responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, interventions that are data driven. We are looking for a dedicated mental health practitioner that will drive the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of our students and families through a responsive continuum of services to ensure academic growth. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm two times per week, and 7:30 am to 4:00 pm three times per week. This role is an exempt position and reports to the school leader. This position is for the school year.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Delivery 35%
- Provide group and individual therapy and classroom support to special education students, general education students, as well as assess student response to the interventions identified.
- Respond to acute mental health crises and provide appropriate intervention services to students and families.
- Develop and manage student behavior intervention plans, monitor progress, and provide support and consultation to general and special education teachers to promote implementation.
- Conduct student and classroom observations to monitor individual student progress
- Provide on-going consultation to teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support students' learning, behavioral challenges, and mental health needs.
- Conduct risk assessments when students present with safety concerns.
- Acts as a team member who supports mental and behavioral health programming at the Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 levels of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
- Complete all necessary special education paperwork for special education meetings.
- Log progress notes with all of the required information about the student's specific IEP goals, responses to the designated interventions, and plan for upcoming sessions, in a timely manner.
- Serve as 504 case manager for students with a 504 plan. Complete paperwork, monitor implementation of accommodations, provide behavior support services when applicable, and log notes when applicable.
- Collect data to track plan fidelity and monitor progress towards goals for IEPs, Tier 3 plans, and BIPs.
- Collects social/emotional & behavioral functioning data for students in the referral process.
- Consult and collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and student support team members to offer prevention and intervention strategies to resolve learning and behavioral challenges of students.
- Support stakeholders in understanding the integration of child development, student academics, and social-emotional functioning.
- Demonstrate a positive, collaborative, problem-solving mindset with students, parents/guardians, educators, administrators, community members, and colleagues.
- Work directly with Community Based Organizations to make referrals for students in need of mental health services.
- Collaborate with the school team to decrease chronic absenteeism and truancy.
- Serve as the school liaison to social service agencies in the surrounding community.
- Act as the School-Based Homeless Liaison, identifying and supporting families that are in need of permanent housing through completion of referrals and fulfilling identified needs.
- Participate in mediations, administrative reviews, discipline hearings, and due process proceedings as it relates to students on caseload.
- Participate in school Open Houses, Parent-Teacher Conferences and other school events engaging parents outside of normal operating hours.
- Master's Degree in social work or professional counseling. (Required)
- Licensure as a social worker or professional counselor by the District of Columbia Department of Health (DOH). (Required)
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor (Preferred)
- Commitment to working with students with limited access to quality educational opportunities. (Required)
- Experience working in an urban public school. (Preferred)
- Pass all background check requirements under the School Safety Omnibus Amendment Act of 2018. (Required)

Mental Health Practitioner salaries are exempt and start at $71,475 and increase with years of experience. Please see the salary scale here. Mental Health Practitioners can earn up to $5,000 in renewal add-ons to their base salary each year they return to KIPP DC.

Job Description
InnerSourced Solutions has an immediate opening for a part-time, licensed therapist to provide individual and family therapy for adults and adolescents. Intermediate practitioners are welcome to apply, but independently licensed practitioners are preferred. This is a contract, part-time position with full-time potential. Part-time positions require a minimum of 10 billable hours per week of direct client contact each week. Full-time positions require a minimum of 25 billable hours or direct client contact per week. There is also a possibility for this to be a full-time, W-2 position. Must be available for all in person or remote clinical supervision or consultation.
NOTE: This is a HYBRID position ~ some sessions may temporarily be provided virtually due to Covid 19 through 2025 pursuant to current COMAR regulations. Applicants MUST have transportation and be able and willing to provide face to face sessions in the home, office or community if the client needs and desires.

Your Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments with clients according to program standards
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings
- Provide weekly individual and/or family sessions to clients using various therapeutic modalities
- Provide complete and timely documentation to support services rendered in our HIPAA-compliant, cloud-based EMR system.
- Effectively communicate with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams in a timely and respectful manner
- Uphold with high regard, the confidentiality of clients and follow all HIPPA guidelines
- Strict adherence to COMAR and CARF standards both in practice and in documentation
- Master's in a behavioral health field (social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy) or Doctorate in Psychology
- Active License to practice independently in the State of Maryland as a LSCW-C, LPC, LCMFT, or psychologist
- Active Intermediate to practice in the State of Maryland as LMSW, LGPC, LGMFT
- Must provide pdf of Maryland CAQH profile/application
- Active Malpractice Insurance
- Active First Aid and CPR.
