What You'll Do:

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of Fleet Feet training programs and running clubs.
  • Communicate with participants, coaches, and volunteers about schedules, updates, and program milestones.
  • Ensure all training events are set up properly and create a warm, inclusive environment for all attendees.
  • Track attendance, feedback, and participant progress to enhance program quality.
  • Help manage volunteer and coach schedules to ensure sessions are well-supported.
  • Provide on-site support at training sessions, including check-in, hydration stations, and warm-ups.
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts to grow program visibility and participation.
  • Stay connected to the customer experience by working in-store weekly and sharing program updates with staff and customers.

About this job

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Leadership Development Manager serves as a member of the Leadership Development (LD)/Community Action (CA) team supporting the organizations overall vision. The manager will work directly with students as a case manager and the entire program team to plan and execute various events throughout the year. As part of the LD and CA team, the ideal candidate will have experience in camping and/or outdoor education programming and be able to work in both our camp and trek programs.

  • Work in partnership with the program team to support the overall vision and mission of the program
  • Build and maintain relationships with youth that offer high support and mutual accountability
  • Provide coaching and advising sessions to each participant, ensuring they have an actionable plan in place for postsecondary success
  • Plan and facilitate year round programming, including weekend events and after-school workshops
  • Act as member of the Camp Leadership, plan, manage and facilitate all operations and programming of the Camp and Bridges summer experiences
  • Manage all aspects of student engagement including maintaining communication, tracking attendance, and verifying the completion of paperwork

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

*Compensation*: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of$57,960-$86,941based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Minimum Requirements:

The Leadership Development Professional role is an entry level leadership developmental position. Working under close guidance with assigned mentors, you will be accountable for growing and strengthening your leadership skills and general business understanding of the manufacturing processes and operations of a Wood Products mill, and other major function areas, through a detailed 12-month development plan including hands-on learning, operational rotations, and successful completion of process improvement projects.
This is a full time, non-exempt position and will report to the Mill Manager. Relocation benefits are available for this and subsequent positions.
This role is a part of the Wood Products business, working in the Southern Lumber Region at the Philadelphia Lumber Mill located in Philadelphia, MS. The Philadelphia mill is a random-length sawmill producing lumber used in residential construction. Philadelphia is located in East Central Mississippi and is approximately 1 1/2 hours Northeast of Jackson, MS and 1 hour south of Starkville, MS. If you enjoy close proximity to outdoor recreational activities and southern hospitality, the Philadelphia area offers excellent options in recreation, college sports, and relaxation.
The successful individual will be assigned to the next role once development is successfully completed, and a suitable assignment is identified that meets business needs.
*Key Functions*
