We are currently in search of an Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer who will be based onsite at our combined cycle plant, the Bobby C. Smith plant in Rincon, Georgia.
Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer provides fleet engineering, Subject Matter Expertise, and technical support for the power systems and electrical equipment used at Oglethorpe Power Corporation's (OPC) power generating facilities. This includes low, medium, and high voltage switchgear; motor controls center apparatus; segmented, non-segmented, and isophase bus work; digital protective relays; large electric generators; and generator step up and auxiliary transformers.
- Competency, knowledge, and experience are required in "industry standard" electrical testing with the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance with the associated power systems and electrical equipment.
- The incumbent shall be responsible for the OPC's fleet wide NERC PRC and MOD electrical testing program and related reporting to enable compliance with NERC/SERC standards.
- The incumbent will provide subject matter expertise with the design, selection, modification, and replacement of digital protective relays for plant power systems and electrical equipment.
- As a member of the Technical Services team, the incumbent will also provide engineering support for the review of drawings, specifications, and design memoranda for generation projects in development or under construction.
Job Duties:
- Subject Matter Expertise with technical support and engineering for power plant electrical systems and electrical equipment
- Planning the scope for plant electrical systems and electrical equipment with planned maintenance outages.
- Oversee and/or perform the electrical testing and inspections with predictive and preventive maintenance programs for OPC's power plants.
- Serve as the OPC technical advisor with defining and standardizing the predictive and preventive maintenance programs (CMMS/Maximo) for power plant electrical systems and equipment across the OPC fleet.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise with technical review for design of new power plant systems or modifications to existing power plant systems with the review and comment of drawings, specifications, design memoranda, and service contracts/agreements.
- Provide engineering support to ensure OPCs compliance with NERC Reliability Standards. This includes NERC PRC and MOD electrical testing program and related reporting to enable compliance with NERC/SERC standards.
Required Qualifications:
Education : Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (preferably BSEE) - Technical and business knowledge of generating plant operation, performance and economics.
Experience :
- 5+ years minimum engineering and five years minimum preventive and predictive maintenance experience in an operating commercial electric power generating plant required, including planning, budgeting, preventive and predictive maintenance and maintenance analysis.

Unusual hours required of this position: The generating plants operate on a 24-hour basis. At their discretion, the incumbent may elect to remain on site around the clock during forced outages, maintenance outages, or to attend plant meetings which occur outside normal office hours. The incumbent is on-call 24 hours in the event of incidents that affect the operation, rating, or reliability of the Corporation's generating assets.
Senior Engineer
The Sr. Engineer will oversee Electrical Testing and Predictive/Preventive Maintenance Programs at plants owned/operated or contracted to operate by Oglethorpe Power. The incumbent will be responsible for planning such efforts as major generator outages at Oglethorpe Plants and the design, selection, and implementation of new control systems at Oglethorpe Plants. The incumbent will help with planning, reviewing, and monitoring annual electrical inspections and draft annual reports on facilities owned/operated or contracted to operate by Oglethorpe Power. The incumbent will provide business, administrative, and technical support for plant managers and other personnel as needed, including the design of new plant systems or modifications to existing plant systems, planning, budgeting, and performance analysis for facilities owned/operated or contracted to operate by Oglethorpe Power. The incumbent will help in the procedure writing of actual plant procedures to enable compliance with NERC/SERC standards such as reactive power validation. As a member of Technical Services, the incumbent will also provide services, such as reviewing drawings, specifications, design memoranda, etc. to generation projects in development or under construction.

**Payload and Ground Systems Division - Remote Sensing Programs (PGS RSP)** is a strategic partner specializing in delivering intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance solutions for classified and unclassified missions in space. We have an opening for an experienced **Electrical Engineer or Principal Electrical Engineer** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Space Systems organization. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and fabrication of the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) suite of test sets. The EGSE test sets are used to check out, integrate, and operate Flight hardware during ground test. These test sets provide power, control, telemetry, safety interlocking and cooling. This candidate will be part of a small EGSE Design Team supporting a few programs.
This position is 100% based on our **Linthicum, MD** campus **.** Remote and Hybrid work are not available.
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
+ Panel & cable design, electrical interconnects & schematics, developing acceptance criteria & certification procedures, and hardware checkout/troubleshooting.
+ Root cause determination, problem resolution and documentation are expected.
+ Interface with subsystem test engineers, test operators, technicians, systems administrators, security team, and vendors to provide support for various test set tasks as required.
+ Full design cycle of EGSE, from conception through design to fabrication and integration/test.

**Basic Qualifications:**
