**Quality Assurance Technician**
**2nd shift Starting pay rate: $22.10 with attendance bonus, Monday to Friday - Some weekend work required. From: 4:30 pm 2:30 am.**
**SUMMARY:** Under general supervision performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance or research setting. Duties usually consist of making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative biological or chemical analytical tests, performing routine calculations and determinations on tests, and evaluating physical characteristics such as permeability, disintegration and crystal growth viscosity. Uses standard laboratory glassware and equipment or one or two complex pieces of equipment.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Performs laboratory work according to prescribed standards.
+ Determines chemical and physical characteristics or composition.
+ Sets up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.
+ Collects and analyzes samples. Performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards. Tests for presence and content of elements, substances or impurities. Tests for such qualities as purity, stability, viscosity, density, absorption, burning rate, melting or flash point, etc.
+ Tests samples to verify conformity to specifications. Records test results and writes test reports describing procedures used.
+ Cleans and sterilizes laboratory equipment.
+ Prepares graphs and charts.
+ Calibrates laboratory instruments.
+ Assists with the preparation of chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
+ May add chemicals or raw materials to process solutions or product batches to correct to establish formulation required to meet specifications.
**KNOWLEDE AND SKILLS:**
EDUCATION: Typically requires Associate's Degree in related field; however, additional related work experience will be considered in lieu of education requirement.
EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**
Routine discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness, and unpleasant air conditions. may involve routine exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as cleaning solutions.

**Principal Accountabilities**
+ Ensure food safety guidelines are always followed
+ Evaluate and verify sanitation practices for production food safety
+ Ensure compliance with regulations and specifications of incoming raw materials and outgoing product throughput all processes
+ Enforce and audit Good Hygiene Practices
+ All other duties as assigned
**Required Qualifications**
+ Must be eligible to work in the united states without visa sponsorship
+ Must be 18 years or older
+ Must have a high school diploma/GED or 1 years' experience in a quality control, production, and/or military role
+ Must have good math skills
+ Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English for paperwork purposes
+ Knowledge of warehousing processes
+ Must be a self-starter and have good communication skills
+ Accuracy, precision, and dependability are a necessity
+ Excellent attendance and safety records required
+ Must be willing to cross-train to work in other areas of FSQR coverage
+ Must be able to work in cold/damp and hot/humid environment. (-35 degrees to 25 degree)
+ Must work well alone or as a team player
+ Prolonged periods of walking and standing required
+ Ability to work flexible hours. Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
+ Proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Associate or Bachelor degree
+ Previous experience in food / meat plant environment
+ HACCP training
