We are seeking a skilled and detail orientated Microelectronics Assembler to join our team.
This Assembler position is located in the IRFS Value Stream in the Microwave Department and performs a wide variety of assembly operations to create precision electro-mechanical, electronic assemblies or sub-assemblies or microwave assemblies. Determines and/or follows method and sequence of operations in performing such tasks as manual die-attach using various types of epoxies or solders. Uses precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance with blueprint specifications and tolerances, dis-assembles precision assemblies and corrects malfunctions.
Responsibilities- Assembles, modifies, reworks and repairs electrical components, assemblies, subassemblies and moderately complex modules by interpreting schematic diagrams, process sheets, technical drawing package or other specifications. Inspects results to ensure conformance with requirements and performs rework as needed.
- Verifies producibility of products during the first piece process.
- Performs tasks of lower level assembler job description.
- May cross-train on other assembly positions.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Ability to perform manual die-attach using various types of epoxy and solder to place components that are a minimum of 10x10 mils square while working under a microscope.
Minimum:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience working as an electronic assembler.
- Able to interpret and work with print and parts list, process sheets/route cards and technical drawing packages(i.e., ECO's).
- Able to use hand tools.
- Able to use measurement tools and devices such as scales, Calibrated eyepieces and caliphers.
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred:
- Proven experience in hand soldering SMT and through-hole components under a microscope
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, and Mil-Spec requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on quality and efficiency
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Hourly Range: Assembler II: $18.52 - $25.95 hourly (Lansdale, PA). Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Job Purpose:
Candidate will lead the design and development of innovative microelectronics packaging solutions for high density memory products targeted at the defense, aerospace, and commercial markets.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers and subcontractors in the development and qualification of DRAM and Flash products including multichip modules (MCM), plastic ball grid array multichip packages (MCP), and System-In-Package (SiP) solutions.
- Responsible for project scheduling and execution, project status reporting, and providing technical guidance to the team.
- Interface directly with onshore and offshore assembly and test subcontractors (OSAT) and OEM customers.
- Some travel may be required.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 10-12 years related experience.
- BS in Microelectronics Packaging, EE, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Materials
- Experience in the design of semiconductor packages such as plastic ball grid arrays, MultiChip Packages (MCPs), and System-in-Package (SiP).
- Solid understanding of semiconductor package design parameters and their influence on cost, thermal and electrical performance, reliability, and manufacturability
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams in complex microelectronics packaging projects.
- Project management experience including scheduling, status reporting, and subcontractor management.
- Thorough understanding of microelectronics package design flow, including mechanical design, signal integrity simulation, thermal simulation, schematic capture, and PCB layout
- Thorough understanding of high volume manufacturing processes for semiconductor ICs (backend packaging and test)
- Familiarity with silicon wafer post-process techniques such as wafer thinning, dicing, and RDL application.
- T horough understanding and experience in packaging qualification testing techniques and industry standard test methods

Job Purpose:
Candidate will lead the design and development of innovative microelectronics packaging solutions for high density memory products targeted at the defense, aerospace, and commercial markets.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers and subcontractors in the development and qualification of DRAM and Flash products including multichip modules (MCM), plastic ball grid array multichip packages (MCP), and System-In-Package (SiP) solutions.
- Responsible for project scheduling and execution, project status reporting, and providing technical guidance to the team.
- Interface directly with onshore and offshore assembly and test subcontractors (OSAT) and OEM customers.
- Some travel may be required.
- Minimum 10-12 years related experience.
- BS in Microelectronics Packaging, EE, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Materials
- Experience in the design of semiconductor packages such as plastic ball grid arrays, MultiChip Packages (MCPs), and System-in-Package (SiP).
- Solid understanding of semiconductor package design parameters and their influence on cost, thermal and electrical performance, reliability, and manufacturability
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams in complex microelectronics packaging projects.
- Project management experience including scheduling, status reporting, and subcontractor management.
- Thorough understanding of microelectronics package design flow, including mechanical design, signal integrity simulation, thermal simulation, schematic capture, and PCB layout
- Thorough understanding of high volume manufacturing processes for semiconductor ICs (backend packaging and test)
- Familiarity with silicon wafer post-process techniques such as wafer thinning, dicing, and RDL application.
- T horough understanding and experience in packaging qualification testing techniques and industry standard test methods
- Experience interfacing directly with onshore and offshore microelectronics assembly and test subcontractors (OSAT)
- Experience with printed circuit board assembly, SMT processing equipment and methods
- Familiarity with integrated circuit functional test and burn in techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Wafer level packaging, Wafer preparation (dicing, grinding, wafer expansion, die singulation)
- Die pick and place, Die Attach, Die Stack, MEMS die, FLIP CHIP, Underfill, Thermo-compression bonding, WIREBOND, Molding (transfer mold)
- Compression mold, vacuum mold, film-assist mold), Dam and Fill dispense, Ball Attach, Solder Reflow, Singulation, Tape and Reel, SMT (Surface Mount Technology). Packages handled and developed: QFP, TQFP, SOP, TSOP, QFN, Flip Chip, Cu pillar FC, BGA, CSP, FAN-OUT WAFER LEVEL PACKAGING (FOWLP), 2.5DIC, 3DIC, Thru mold vias, Thru-silicon

What You'll Do:
- Fabricates microelectronic components and sub-assemblies by following specific instructions for wire and ribbon bonding utilizing various manual and automatic bonding machines.
- Use microscopes, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment to meet quality requirements.
- Read and interpret assembly process/work instructions and work instruction processes.
- Work with microscopic to large components that may require visual magnification for entire shift.
- Use various hand tools (such as tweezers, rulers, and cutters) and pneumatic tools (such as torque drivers, and screwdrivers).
- Maintain accurate data entry related to production processes.
- Collaborate with teams members to improve throughput and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with bonding microelectronic components and familiarity with manual gold ball and ribbon bonding.
- Familiarity with manual bonding equipment and with automatic bonding equipment.
- Basic computer skills required, including ability to navigate digital systems for timekeeping, work instructions, and task confirmation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to learn J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610.
- Knowledge of ESD procedures and test equipment.
- Strong work ethic and a reputation for punctuality and reliability, with a desire to grow and learn in their role.
- High school diploma or GED required.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform precision wire and ribbon bonding on micro-circuit modules using manual and automatic bonders.
- Operate microscopes, tweezers, and pneumatic tools for high-accuracy assembly work.
- Follow written process documentation and assembly instructions (work instructions, schematics, visual aids).
- Conduct visual inspections and use measuring tools to verify bonding quality.
