JOB SUMMARY
The Microsoft Solutions Engineer (SE) is a strategic technical leader responsible for designing and
delivering end-to-end Microsoft-based solutions-including Azure, Office 365, and other enterprise
platforms. This role bridges business needs and technical execution, working closely with
stakeholders, internal teams, and clients to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
The SE also serves as a technical liaison to sales and project teams, contributing to solution scoping,
demos, and statements of work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Lead solution architecture for Microsoft technologies including Azure, Office 365,
SharePoint, and Teams.
- Conduct project discovery, technical research, and scope definition.
- Create detailed statements of work, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans.
- Estimate resource requirements and timelines for technical delivery.
- Perform system performance analysis and present findings to technical and executive
audiences.
- Collaborate with vCIOs, sales, and engineering teams to qualify and scope opportunities 4.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal technical development initiatives

Technical & Project Delivery Skills
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Active Directory, PowerShell, and cloud
architecture.
- Deep expertise with Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for identity and access management,
including conditional access, MFA, and role-based access control
- Strong understanding of virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware)
- Experience with network infrastructure: routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, QoS, ACLs
- Proficiency in solution design, system integration, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in Windows desktop and server operating systems (XP, 7, 8, 10, 11; Server 2008
R2 through 2022)

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
