**Position Overview**
+ As a Principal Microwave Engineer in the Defense and Aerospace industry, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of microwave systems and components used in radar, communication, and electronic warfare systems.
+ You will provide technical leadership to resolve issues that may arise during assembly, production testing, and integration of complex RF/Microwave products.
**Key Responsibilities:**

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related field.
+ 7 or more years of experience in High Reliability Military, Aerospace and Defense Electronics product development and product manufacturing.
+ Experience in testing / troubleshooting RF/Microwave, analog, digital, and/or mixed signal circuits.
+ Experience in failure analysis / Root-Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
+ Strong understanding of microwave theory, electromagnetic wave propagation, and transmission line theory.
+ Experience with microwave measurement equipment and techniques, including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.
+ Expertise with documentation such as schematics, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronics.
+ Experience successfully providing technical leadership to development or manufacturing teams.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**

The Principal/Senior RF Microwave Design Engineer will join a team working toward advanced optimization algorithms that leverage high-fidelity Computational Electromagnetic (CEM)-based simulations. This position will be based in **Baltimore, MD.**
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
+ Designs, develops, tests radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave systems architecture, Sub-systems, circuits, or products. Includes antenna design, both reflector and array systems, frequency synthesizers, transmitters, and receivers. General frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks. Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned.
+ In addition, this candidate should demonstrate familiarity/technical ability in one or more of the following areas:
+ Active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs)
+ Highly integrated subsystems including antenna hardware
+ Reflectors, Reflect Arrays, Digital Beam Forming
+ Antenna/RF Performance Analysis
+ Computational Electromagnetics, Statistics
+ Antenna or Subsystem Control Design
+ Antenna Measurements and Data Reduction
+ Antenna range integration, test, and system integration
+ Subsystem requirements (hardware and software) derivation, flow-down, and configuration
**This position can be filled at the Principal or Senior Principal level based on the basic qualifications below.**
**Basic Qualifications Principal RF Microwave Engineer:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or related discipline with + 5 years of experience, Master's + 3 years of experience, PhD + 0 years of experience
+ Experience with designing/analyzing/testing radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave antennas
+ No clearance required to start ability to obtain and maintain and Active TS/SCI clearance
**Basic Qualification for Sr. Principal RF Microwave Design Engineer:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Science, Mathematics) or related discipline with + 9 years of experience, + 7 years of experience with a Master's Degree, PhD + 4 years of experience
+ Demonstrated ability in technical and team leadership overseeing engineers
+ Experience with designing/analyzing/testing radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave antennas
+ Active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs)
+ No clearance required to start, but must have the ability to obtain and maintain and Active TS/SCI clearance
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ TS/SCI security clearance
+ Proficiency with MATLAB, Python and/or other related programming languages.
+ Experience using modeling tools such as STK and with CST Microwave Studio, HFSS, GRASP, FEKO, and/or other computational electromagnetics software tools
Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $58,000.00Salary Range 2: 131,100.00 - 196,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

**What are your contributions to the team?**
+ Prepare necessary documents to support the modification of in-service Bombardier aircraft such as wire diagrams, functional test plans and reports, technical requirement documents, electrical load analysis and design compliance reports.
+ Coordinate with internal departments, outside suppliers and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, testing and certification of avionics and entertainment systems on all Bombardier platforms.

+ You have a working knowledge of Cabin Management/Entertainment Systems (Preferred).
+ You have a working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA).
+ You are proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Outlook).
+ You have a working knowledge of electrical, avionics, and wire harness design guidelines for CFR Part 25 aircraft.
