+ As a Principal Microwave Engineer in the Defense and Aerospace industry, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of microwave systems and components used in radar, communication, and electronic warfare systems.

+ **Testing and Characterization** : Plan and execute laboratory tests to verify the performance of microwave systems and components. Use specialized equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power meters to measure and analyze microwave signals, including power, frequency response, noise figure, and linearity.
+ **Performance Analysis and Optimization** - Analyze system and component performance data, identify potential issues, and propose design modifications or improvements. Optimize microwave systems for enhanced performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related field.
+ 7 or more years of experience in High Reliability Military, Aerospace and Defense Electronics product development and product manufacturing.
+ Experience in testing / troubleshooting RF/Microwave, analog, digital, and/or mixed signal circuits.
+ Experience in failure analysis / Root-Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
+ Strong understanding of microwave theory, electromagnetic wave propagation, and transmission line theory.
+ Experience with microwave measurement equipment and techniques, including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.
+ Expertise with documentation such as schematics, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronics.
+ Experience successfully providing technical leadership to development or manufacturing teams.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Completed and/or led multiple board designs from schematic capture to board release

The Principal/Senior RF Microwave Design Engineer will join a team working toward advanced optimization algorithms that leverage high-fidelity Computational Electromagnetic (CEM)-based simulations. This position will be based in **Baltimore, MD.**
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
+ Designs, develops, tests radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave systems architecture, Sub-systems, circuits, or products. Includes antenna design, both reflector and array systems, frequency synthesizers, transmitters, and receivers. General frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks. Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned.
+ In addition, this candidate should demonstrate familiarity/technical ability in one or more of the following areas:
+ Active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs)
+ Highly integrated subsystems including antenna hardware

Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $58,000.00Salary Range 2: 131,100.00 - 196,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Conduct all design-related activities under engineering supervision.
+ Prepare engineering calculations, diagrams, sketches, and drawings.
+ Utilize computer software as a tool for designing and solving engineering problems.
+ Perform work in accordance with the allocated budget and schedule.
+ Attend design review meetings, record minutes, and maintain action items.
+ Research and apply related building codes, regulatory and industry standards.

+ Perform surveys, create sketches, record dimensions, and analyze data collected.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
+ Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit design software.
+ Basic knowledge of electrical components and characteristics.
+ Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills; articulate, assertive, confident.
