What You Will Do
- Applies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.

Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. Position Overview:
As a Marine Electrician (Improver / 2 nd Class), you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment aboard naval and commercial vessels. This position requires knowledge of electrical theory, shipboard systems, and the ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in challenging shipyard environments while ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Journeyman/1st Class Electricians with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of shipboard electrical systems (600V and below).
- Run cables, fabricate terminations/connectors, and harness cables aboard vessels.
- Prepare work areas, drill holes, grind surfaces, and inspect cableways/electrical equipment.
- Test circuits for continuity, shorts, and grounds under supervision.
- Inspect connections, disconnect devices, and control wiring.
- Assist with repair and maintenance of telephones, circuits, and associated equipment.
- Support installation of new power and lighting circuits.
- Perform lock-out/tag-out procedures under guidance.
- Provide quality work and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) as required by specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area; comply with OSHA and company safety protocols.

Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Minimum 3 years electrical installation and repair experience (marine/shipyard preferred).
- Working knowledge of Ohm's Law and its application.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and Navy standards manuals.
- Understanding of IEE, ABS, Coast Guard, and manufacturer technical manuals.
- Ability to operate shop equipment, portable power tools, and hand tools.
