A Day In The Life

Operator will be required to assemble and/or disassemble parts into subassemblies or finished units, and to receive and stock parts and supplies. Operator will be required to use hand tools, jigs, fixtures, machines, equipment, and other means to produce a good quality product.

Processes performed will be, but not limited to, assembling, drilling, pressing, testing, fitting, filing, and storing.

Operator may be required to make visual and manual inspections, check quality, assure alignment, position, tension, record production, record scrap, keep required production records, and other operations as required.

Operator will be required to set-up, operate and adjust machines and equipment as required.

Operator must have the ability to interpret drawings and routing sheets and perform SPC as required.

Operator will be required to furnish own hand tools.

Operator will be required to maintain machines, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Operator must ensure that any hazardous waste generated must be properly packaged and labeled before removing from his/her area.

As an Assembly Tool Tech you will:
Utilizing a combination of machined fixture components and components built in SLA machines, clean and assemble tooling for use in manufacturing. Will operate the SLA machines by adding raw materials as needed, starting build files and removing completed builds. Assists as needed with tool coordination on the manufacturing floor in order to efficiently link tooling with work orders at time of need to eliminate tooling constraints.
What will my responsibilities include?
- Operate SLA (Stereolithography) machines, starting builds and removing completed builds.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of SLA machines.
- Clean SLA components after build completion.
- Operate waterjet to create needed fixture components.
- Assemble SLA and machined components in order to produce assembly tool for inspectionand use.
- Perform visual inspection of purchased machined components.
- Assist with tool coordination in shop in order to link jobs with work orders as needed.
- Operate shop equipment such as bandsaw, manual lathe, sander.
- Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate.

What key skills and experience do I need?
- Blueprint/drawing interpretation, fabrication and assembly experience.
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Production Team Partner to join our UniFirst Family. As a Team Partner in the Production Department, you will be working as a team to clear out soiled products from our service trucks. This is where our production process begins every morning. At UniFirst we have a 5-day work week, enjoy Saturday and Sunday off! We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.

What you’ll be doing:
- Unload soiled products from trucks
- Separate products by type
- Weigh soiled products and hoist/store until next process
- Handle reductions and/or modifications to the customer's account (either adding or removing product)
- Follow all safety policies, HACCP and medical guidelines
- Perform other duties as described by area supervisor or managemen t
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
High school education and/or GED equivalent preferred
Must be at least 16 years of age or older
Must be at least 18 years of age or older to operate machinery
Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with management
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and push carts up to 40lbs.
Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using American standard units of weight measurement, volume, and distance

What will I do?
- Produce, assemble and package products, operating machinery and equipment as necessary for the job
- Inform team members of actions completed by properly labeling all containers and carts, filling out log sheets, and completing tasks on batch cards
- Perform quality checks and properly handle products to ensure they meet Wegmans food safety and quality standards
- Practice food and human safety techniques, comply with equipment maintenance, and use guidelines and labor laws to safely complete work, and maintain a clean work environment
- Keep open lines of communication with management and coworkers to effectively resolve issues and keep the operation running smoothly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing/factory environment
- Experience working in a food production facility
- Experience working under food safety guidelines
