Digital Ministry Intern

Location: The Riverside Church in the City of New York (New York, NY)

Reports to: Minister of Digital Strategy and Design

Department: Worship and The Arts

Scheduled Work Hours: Part-Time, up to 12 hours weekly maximum; Sundays required.

Pay Rate: $5000 Stipend

Duties and Responsibilities:

As Digital Ministry Intern, you will be observing, learning about, participating in, and helping to facilitate the various digital ministries at The Riverside Church while managing important other processes. Duties include:
  • Working with the Minister for Digital Worship & Education, they will help lead Open Bible Study on Zoom and Virtual Coffee Hour as assigned.
  • Help manage the livestream engagement process on Sunday morning. They will learn about and participate in projects like Bible in a Minute, The Word Made Fresh, and more.
  • The intern's primary goal will be to learn how and why The Riverside Church engages in Digital Ministry for our local, online, and potential congregation and community.
  • In the second semester they will identify a specific digital ministry goal or project to engage in.
  • Along the way, the intern will reflect deeply about the work, impact, and potential of digital ministry in the church and in the world.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

4. Assist Life Group volunteers with technical needs related to check-in and group management
5. Support livestream initiatives (such as book giveaways or registrations) with technical database integration as needed
6. Offer technical support for other ministry-related software applications.
7. Stay current with database technology updates and recommend improvements or enhancements

9. Standard schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with occasional additional hours required to support ministry events and activities

Required Qualifications
    • Must be 18 years of age or older.

    • Have basic fluency in English to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports for the property management company
    • Possess a current driver's license and liability insurance, and access to a form of reliable transportation to complete coordinator duties such as shopping for events and connecting with vendors
