Raytheon, an RTX Company, is operating and sustaining the Ground System (GS), which includes the Command-and-Control Element (C2E), the Mission Planning Element (MPE), and the Ground Processing Element (GPE). The Mission Planner Operator (MPO) is responsible for planning and scheduling various ground and satellite activities withing the GS. As the Mission Planner, you will be responsible for understanding the entire system, to include Space/Ground links, Ground Station support equipment, data transport systems, Mission Planning software, hardware and architecture, and other internal and external interfaces.
The Mission Planning Operator position is staffed during normal business hours. However, the ability to be on call (after hours or weekends) is required when necessary.
Normal work hours are between 8am and 5pm Monday - Friday.
On-call (after hours or on weekends) in the event of an anomaly.
What You Will Do
+ Define scheduling tasks used to allocate system resources.
+ Execute the Raytheon Equinox and VTK scheduling software to perform manual resource allocation and de-confliction.
+ Determine & schedule contacts with the ground terminal using vendor (ViaSat) provided software.
+ Configure crypto equipment using vendor provided software.
+ Support ground hardware and software upgrades, lifecycle management and testing.
+ Distribute the completed, validated schedule and work with the Command-and-Control Operator to ensure command generation is successful.
+ Receive and process Mission Task Requests from the customer.
+ Cross-train as a Command-and-Control Operator (C2O) and perform in both positions, MPO and C2O.
+ Interact with site personnel, vehicle provider, and customer.
+ Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information.
+ Adapt to change on short notice and work in a small team environment.
Qualifications You Must Have
+ Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience.
+ Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
+ Experience performing satellite mission support in a near real-time operations environment.
+ Ability to distinguish the difference between colors on a computer monitor (red, blue, white and green), especially the color red, in order to React to alarm messages on a color display.
+ Able to work overtime with short notice and fill in for other crew members as required.
+ Able to be on call (after hours or weekends) when necessary.
+ Able to cross-train as a command-and-control operator as needed to ensure mission success.
Qualifications We Prefer

+ Orbital Dynamics. Strong interest in Satellites and Space Operations, Environmental Science, and Remote Sensing.

+ Network (LAN/WAN) architecture, protocols and equipment.
+ Windows and Linux operating system.
+ Mathematical modeling algorithms.
+ ECLIPSE , EQUINOX , ESC or similar C3S procedure development application.
+ Satellite ground system experience.

Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

What You Will Do
+ Execute the Raytheon Eclipse Command and Control software to interface with the vehicle and maintain vehicle health daily.
+ Receive and process Mission Task Requests from the customer.
+ Crosstrain as a Mission Planning Operator (MPO) and be able to perform in both positions, C2O and MPO.
+ Define scheduling tasks used to allocate system resources.
+ Execute the Raytheon Equinox and VTK scheduling software to perform manual resource allocation and de-confliction.
+ Determine & schedule contacts with the ground terminal using vendor (ViaSat) provided software.
+ Configure crypto equipment using vendor provided software.
+ Support ground hardware and software upgrades, lifecycle management and testing.
+ Interact with site personnel, vehicle provider, and customer.
+ Available to work overtime with short notice and fill in for other crew members as required.
+ Able to be on call (after hours or weekends) when necessary.
Qualifications You Must Have

Work facilitates development, production, design, or procurement, and affects the efficiency or productivity of a test facility or test activity. Software evaluations may result in new testing techniques or involve assessments which are often the decision basis for large expenditures.
- Demonstrates aviation or mission planning experience with functions provided by the software including operational use of comparable systems. Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of Technical Orders and aircraft performance charts.
- Provides mission planning expertise in addressing questions/issues of critical importance to the customer and frequently serves as the final authority on software quality.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the software or class of software being tested, to include experience with the existing software, previous versions, or any associated software used in conjunction with the software being tested. Ability to conduct mission planning using JMPS mission planning software is highly desirable.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and extended experience and training in the software being tested, including extensive general experience as an aircrew member (pilot, navigator) accomplishing manual mission planning procedures and techniques.
- Maintains testing/test methodology experience, including testing of software/hardware, such as unit, integration, system, or acceptance testing, and familiarity with Air Force directives, CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) and AGILE processes and procedures.
- Maintains experience in the use of automated mission planning software.
- Demonstrates software experience in one or more of the following environments: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows10, and UNIX.

- Familiar with USAF developmental and test processes as they relate to software acquisition and evaluation.
- Proficiency in the use and integration of Microsoft Office applications is highly desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, coordinates, and monitors test projects that frequently require significant modification of standard practices or adaptation of instrumentation to obtain valid results. Plans, monitors and evaluates tests, and assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed evaluation methods. Makes recommendations and commitments on the conventional aspects of the testing assignments.
- Plans tests, establishes criteria, assesses program effectiveness, and investigates/analyzes unusual testing conditions, problems, or questions. Work facilitates development, production, design, or procurement, and affects the efficiency or productivity of a test facility or test activity. Software evaluations may result in new testing techniques or involve assessments which are often the decision basis for large expenditures.
- Demonstrates aviation or mission planning experience with functions provided by the software including operational use of comparable systems. Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of Technical Orders and aircraft performance charts.
- Provides mission planning expertise in addressing questions/issues of critical importance to the customer and frequently serves as the final authority on software quality.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the software or class of software being tested, to include experience with the existing software, previous versions, or any associated software used in conjunction with the software being tested. Ability to conduct mission planning using JMPS mission planning software is highly desirable.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and extended experience and training in the software being tested, including extensive general experience as an aircrew member (pilot, navigator) accomplishing manual mission planning procedures and techniques.
- Maintains testing/test methodology experience, including testing of software/hardware, such as unit, integration, system, or acceptance testing, and familiarity with Air Force directives, CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) and AGILE processes and procedures.
- Maintains experience in the use of automated mission planning software.
- Demonstrates software experience in one or more of the following environments: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows10, and UNIX.

Job Description
The Mission Planner team at Zoox is responsible for creating high-level routes for our autonomous vehicles to transport passengers to their destinations. You will work closely with our Cloud Services team to facilitate pick-up and drop-off requests, along with live traffic data among other inputs. You will also integrate closely with the decision-making and trajectory planning and controls teams to allow dynamic planning. This team will enable the core ability for our vehicles to choose the best routes through cities and adapt in real-time. We are seeking an engineer who is passionate about tackling the complexities of mission planning in dynamic cities. You should be driven to contribute innovative solutions to architecture and design and take responsibility for significant software components. If you like to work close to the robot platform and enjoy experiencing your developed software in the robot, we would like to hear from you. In this role, you will: Develop mission planner algorithms, including graph search and integration with behavioral planning Integrate and test your developed applications in the robot, learn and make improvements. Work collaboratively with passionate team members to support the integration of software components from all teams throughout Zoox. Set the short and long term technical direction for the team and collaborate on the broader company-wide directions Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with other teams across Mission Planning, Behavioral Planning and Cloud Services. The salary will range from$217,000 to $332,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
