Job Summary:
Patient Care Technician is responsible for delivering direct patient care in collaboration with the RN and performing tasks that do not require nursing judgment or medication administration. This role requires a careful observer and data gatherer with experience in telemetry and EKG. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Charge Nurse, providing basic patient care, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting patient educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Careful observation and accurate documentation of patient information.
- Basic patient care tasks under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
- Excellent communication skills, routing messages to the appropriate personnel.

On a typical day, you will conduct newborn hearing screens, usually in a new mom's hospital room, and help educate parents about the importance of the screen using video and printed tools we provide. You will also be in charge of entering patient data and validation of hearing screens, as needed. Additional responsibilities may include helping to confirm or reschedule outpatient appointments, following up on any equipment issues and training new staff.
