**In this role, you will:**
+ Participate in soliciting residential mortgages from various sources

+ Pursue Wells Fargo training offerings to increase knowledge of company products, policies and procedures, and underwriting requirements
+ This SAFE position has customer contact and job duties which may include the offering/negotiating of terms and/or taking an application for a dwelling secured transaction. As such, this position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results. **Required Qualifications:**
+ 2+ years of Private Mortgage Banking Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Our client is looking for a Director, CRE conduit loan originator to source, originate, structure, and close commercial real estate financings across a range of property types for the group's conduit CMBS business. This position will work closely with the loan underwriters, capital markets desk, credit risk management, loan transaction management, securitization bankers, loan closing team, and other important stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Solicit new business: source and originate CRE conduit loans in accordance with market standards and the bank's origination guidelines and risk parameters
+ Develop and maintain strong productive relationships with existing and prospective clients with an emphasis on origination opportunities among regional and national brokerage firms, local developers, high net worth individuals, corporations and other owners and operators in the real estate development and ownership space
+ Prescreen opportunities prior to the sizing, underwriting and documentation process
+ Oversee a deal origination team to prepare and present lending packages for internal credit approval and rating agency/ investor analysis
+ Lead in negotiating loan terms and conditions with borrowers working to achieve optimal terms for both the client and the bank
+ Provide independent, succinct and objective in-depth analysis of credit quality to present a financing request to senior management, loan approval committee and credit risk for approval
+ Use credit skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of a transaction and create structural features to mitigate risks
+ Work closely with:
+ the loan transaction management team to review and finalize loan documentation, ensuring compliance with market standards, internal policies and regulatory requirements
+ the loan underwriting team to prepare initial deal summaries and preliminary loan analysis and, should the loan approval progress, finalize the model
+ the syndicate desk, securitization bankers and capital sources to achieve superior execution on transactions
+ all stakeholders to maintain a high level of customer service and continuously strive to meet client objectives in the effort to responsibly grow a market-leading CMBS conduit platform
+ Coordinate the processing and closing of approved loans in compliance with the company lending policies and procedures
+ Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to junior team members
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
+ Candidate is required to have a BA/BS, ideally in commercial real estate finance, finance or similar

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Support large loan originators with the sizing, underwriting/due diligence, closing and execution of large loan transactions across various geographies and asset types
+ Prepare sizing cashflow and, estimated capital stacks for pricing and quoting large loans and for purposes of preliminary credit approval
+ Recommend structural loan features to enhance credit and mitigate risk
+ Prepare all necessary components of the credit package, including due diligence material, credit memo/Asset Summary Report and underwriting
+ Complete site inspections and detailed market analysis, including broker interviews and discussions with property management and ownership
+ Analyze detailed property financial information
+ Create and/or review existing Argus cash flow models; edit assumptions based on actual market data collections and financial review information
+ Review third party reports (appraisal, engineering, environmental, etc.), and identify key issues that warrant further investigation and/or revision
+ Participate in presentations and discussions with clients, mortgage brokers, loan syndication partners, rating agencies, B buyers and mezz lenders regarding loan structure, sponsorship, legal, property, market, pricing, and underwriting issues
+ Assist Capital Markets team to ensure the successful execution/exit of loans, including coordination with rating agencies, investors, and securitization functions
**QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
+ 4-6 years' experience in CMBS loan underwriting or similar role
+ Strong financial modelling / excel skills
+ Excellent communication skills, willingness to work as part of a larger team
+ Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and requires minimal supervision
