Job Description

Job Title: Mortgage Fulfillment Underwriter
We are seeking a highly experienced Mortgage Fulfillment Underwriter responsible for reviewing mortgage assets to ensure they meet all applicable investor guidelines and regulatory requirements. This role demands precision, strong decision-making, and thorough documentation to ensure quality and compliance throughout the mortgage process.
Responsibilities:
+ Underwrite a full range of mortgage loans, including FHA when applicable
+ Review mortgage applications and related documentation for accuracy and completeness
+ Partner with clients to resolve outstanding documentation issues
+ Collaborate with compliance officers to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations
+ Make timely approval or denial decisions for mortgage applications
+ Perform additional underwriting-related tasks as needed
+ Uphold and model company values and cultural standards in all work practices
Required:
+ High School Diploma
+ Solid understanding of mortgage underwriting principles
+ Proficiency with automated underwriting systems
+ Strong knowledge of mortgage-related regulations, including the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act
+ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
+ Experience with state and federal mortgage loan guidelines
+ Expertise in credit review and decision-making
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $35.00/hr.

Position Summary:
SolomonEdwards is looking for a Mortgage Fulfillment Underwriter for one of its mortgage clients to ensure the assets reviewed meet all applicable investor guidelines, through a complete knowledge of requirements and regulations. You will be held accountable for the quality and accuracy of decisions.

St. Louis, MO

Moorpark, CA
Pasadena, CA
Essential Duties:
- Decisions full range of mortgage loans, preferably including FHA loans.
- Review all mortgage applications and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Work with clients to prepare mortgage applications and related documentation as needed, and help resolve any outstanding issues.
- Work with compliance officers to ensure Federal, State, and local compliance with all mortgage and loan materials.
- Approve or deny mortgages on a timely basis.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Demonstrate behaviors that are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience required.
- Knowledge of mortgage laws and regulations required, including the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
- Knowledge of state and federal agency mortgage loan guidelines and regulations is helpful.
Skills and Job-Specific Competencies:
- Solid knowledge of mortgage underwriting and basic automated underwriting systems.
- Proficiency with basic automated underwriting systems.
Travel Requirements: No travel will be required, unless at the client's discretion.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Salary Range: SolomonEdwards values your unique and individual experience and background. As such, we take a comprehensive approach when determining compensation for our roles. The compensation for this specific role is based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to, education, licensure and certifications, location, experience, and training. A reasonable estimate for the current hourly range for this role is $26 - 36.
