**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:**
+ Installing, programming, and maintaining complex communication equipment to get customers up and running.

**WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:**
+ At least two (2) years of experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing mobile communications equipment. 
+ Team-focused with a passion to meet customer needs.
+ Strong communication skills for end users and third parties.
+ Resourceful technicians sometimes need assistance/guidance from others.
+ Knowledgeable in the two-way radio theory.
+ Experience operating testing equipment like spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, and multi-meters.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

+ Ability to pass a 7-year background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.

This role primarily supports customers throughout the southern state of **Kentucky** . Traveling to job sites is required to meet the company's and customers' needs.

Position Summary

The Communication Systems Administrator is responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance, and development of Paraco Gas’s enterprise communication platforms in support of the System Analyst. This role ensures that the company’s call center, texting, and related communication systems operate efficiently, securely, and in alignment with business objectives. The position collaborates closely with IT colleagues and business stakeholders to deliver reliable communication infrastructure and user-focused solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Enterprise Communication Systems
  • Support, maintain, and manage the Enterprise Desk and Call Centre system , ensuring reliable performance and optimal configuration.
  • Develop and implement new solutions or enhancements within the call center platform to meet business needs in coordination with the System Analyst and other IT staff.
  • Support, maintain, and manage the Enterprise Texting Platform , ensuring integration with other business systems and maintaining compliance with communication standards.
  • Develop and deploy improvements, workflows, and automations in the texting platform to improve efficiency and communication flow.
Collaboration and Technical Projects
  • Work collaboratively with the Network Administrator to manage and maintain internet service and connectivity across branch locations, ensuring uptime and performance.
  • Assist the Data Centre Manager with communication-related infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, vendor coordination, and network improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Software Engineer to design, develop, and test communication system APIs and related integrations.
  • Coordinate with the Helpdesk Team to diagnose and resolve user-reported issues related to communication systems.
  • Participate in project planning, implementation, and documentation efforts related to communication technology initiatives.
Administration and Support
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures for communication platforms.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and profiles for communication systems.
  • Perform regular system audits and apply updates, patches, and configuration changes as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies, data protection regulations, and security standards.
Qualifications and Competencies Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience administering communication or contact center systems.
  • Experience with enterprise messaging, telephony, or unified communications platforms.
  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and basic scripting for automation or data exchange.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of communication technologies (telephony, SMS, VoIP, call routing, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:**
+ Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving complex equipment, programming, system, and installation problems/issues. (Two-Way Radios, Land Mobile Radios, P25 Trunking Systems, MOTOTRBO, etc.)
+ Fixing the system if things go wrong and bringing communications back online to public safety, hospitals, and other mission-critical customers.  
+ Partnering with customers to develop an installation/programming strategy and coordinate with the team to ensure access to locations where products will be installed.
+ Assisting in the scoping out and quoting of service, installation, and programming projects.
+ Supporting the development of talent and technical skill sets of the service team.
+ Completing assigned tickets properly and on time.
+ Making minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer request and/or deploying factory software/firmware updates.
+ Demonstrating a willingness to learn and be mentored on new technologies in communications and equipment.
+ Serving in an on-call rotation and providing 24/7 technical support. 
**WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:**
+ Minimum two (2) years, an average of 5+ years of technical service and installation experience.
+ Proficient with radio equipment - installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
+ Proven track record of providing hands-on operational, technical, and installation support/service to complex radio and other wireless communications systems/equipment (Two-Way Radios, Land Mobile Radios, P25 Trunking Systems, MOTOTRBO, etc.)
+ Extensive knowledge/understanding of radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands, and communications systems.
+ Subscriber programming expert and can successfully program various radio types based on customer requirements.
+ Strong communication skills with end users and third parties.
+ P25 and/or MotoTRBO experience is required.
**YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**
The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours are Monday-Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a _Wireless Communication Systems Enginee_ _r_ who will report to the _R&D Director, Communications Systems_ on the _Research & Development (R&D)_ team. The successful individual in this role will participate in all phases of wireless technology projects including planning, design, implementation, prototyping, verification, and validation.
This position is based at Silvus Technologies' headquarters in the heart of vibrant **West Los Angeles,** **CA,** and is on a hybrid schedule; a minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected. On-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ System design and requirement specification.
+ Algorithmic development, simulation, implementation, and testing.
+ System performance simulation, benchmarking, and testing.
+ Fixed point modeling and FPGA design and verification support.
+ Support FPGA and Software development teams for hardware/software implementation and troubleshooting.
+ Lead a team of multi-disciplinary engineers for product and feature development as needed.
+ Setting, tracking, and driving development schedules and tasks.
+ Design and participate in lab and field testing and troubleshooting.
+ Technical material preparation and documentation.
+ Participate in R&D business development and capture efforts as needed.
+ Understand current products and technologies and brainstorm with other teams for future enhancements and strategies.
+ Infrequent travel to support customer interactions or test and demonstration events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ MS. degree or Ph.D. degree in the field of wireless communications and signal processing, electrical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, or relevant engineering fields.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and development of wireless systems.
+ Participation in the complete wireless technology development cycle: from design to field testing.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and experience in RF propagation and channel modeling.
+ Comprehensive expertise in all parts of digital communication systems such as RF subsystems, synchronizations, channel estimation, channel coding, etc.
+ Extensive knowledge and expertise in signal processing algorithms, MIMO, OFDM, etc.
+ Strong understanding of modeling and mitigating RF impairments to signals such as AGC, phase noise, frequency/clock offset, etc.
+ Experience with fixed point modeling, implementation, and verification.
+ Expert in MATLAB programming and simulation.
+ **Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.**
+ **Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.**
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
