The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance ( SMTD ) at Colorado State Universityempowers students to create, collaborate, innovate, and inspire. Through teaching, creative artistry, research, advocacy, and service,we elevate arts education. SMTD has 46 tenured and tenure-track faculty as well as 55 contract, continuing and adjunct faculty. There are currently over 550 students in SMTD , with 375 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in residential and online music degree programs.
SMTD is housed in the University Center for the Arts, a nationally recognized state-of the art 350,000 square foot facility, that includes a 550-seat concert hall, a 275-seat organ and chamber music recital hall, a 320-seat thrust theatre, a 100-seat black box theatre, a 200-seat dance theatre, dedicated rehearsal, production and research spaces, along with classrooms, labs and practice rooms.

Position Summary
The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance may seek full time or part time, temporary Music Instructors to teach music industry courses in the music division, and in administrative roles coordinating special programs and developing curricula.
Applicants are added to the pool list throughout the calendar year. Hiring decisions are made during the late spring and early summer for fall semester, during the early fall semester for spring and during the spring semester for the summer term.

+ Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Industry, Music Business or other field related to music industry, plus five years of significant professional experience in the music industry, which could include but is not limited to song writing, music publishing, copyright law, music production, audio engineering, music production, digital media, popular music history, depending on the course being taught at CSU .

+ Advanced experience in the field within the industry.
+ Documented teaching experience at the college or university level.
+ Master's degree in Music, Music Industry, Music Business or other field related to music industry.

Essential functions (job duties):
The Event Production Manager will oversee the technical and logistical aspects of live events, ensuring smooth execution by coordinating with artists, venue staff, students, and production teams; maintains budgets and manages all aspects of event production from start to finish. Responsible for the Gretchen C. Valade Jazz Center (GCVJC), a 340-seat venue, the Detroit Jazz Hall, and the 100-seat Dee Dee Bridgewaters, along with all ancillary spaces within the building, as well as the 175-seat Schaver Recital Hall in Old Main. This position will work in collaboration with the Department of Music faculty and staff as well as guide and oversee Department of Music student assistants. This position will report to the Chair of the Department of Music.
Develop and manage event production schedules, budgets, and timelines. Collaborate with artists, tour managers, and venue staff to understand their needs and requirements. Coordinate with faculty, vendors, suppliers, and contractors for equipment, services, and personnel. Scheduling and training students to cover events, ensuring proper staffing. Oversees all aspects of event production, including sound, lighting, staging, and AV. Works with the GCV Chair and Advisory Committee on the scheduling and contracting of professional engagements, coordinating ticketing of these events with the box office manager.
Operate and maintain the audiovisual systems for performance use. This position acts as the GCVJC's primary a/v technician and is responsible for operating and maintaining digital audio consoles, theatrical lighting consoles, and live streaming video systems. Train students on the use of A/V equipment and operating procedures.
Manage event logistics, including transportation, loading, unloading, and setup/breakdown. Ensures all equipment is in good working order and properly maintained. Oversee crew and staff on-site, providing direction and support. Address any issues or problems that arise during the event. Coordinate building maintenance and custodial services with Facilities Planning & Management. This requires the submission of work orders when issues arise and anticipating custodial needs. Coordinating card swipe and key access with WSU Public Safety.
Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders. Collaborate with other event team members to ensure a smooth and successful event.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in music technology or a similar field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
3-4 years' experience working in live event production and/or music recording and production.
1-2 years' experience managing a facility.
Technical Skills: Advancing sound, lighting, staging, and other performer needs. Experience with operating digital audio consoles, including a Digico SD9 and Midas M32. Knowledge of ETC lighting consoles and theatrical lighting programming, video recording, and streaming. Managing general repair and maintenance of equipment. Able to troubleshoot A/V issues. Able to manage the Department of Music backline instruments, including Steinway Concert Grand Piano, guitar and bass amplifiers, and drum sets. Knowledge of jazz music and its unique production needs
Project Management Skills: Experience in planning, organizing, and executing events, including developing timelines, managing budgets, and coordinating with vendors and staff.
Problem-solving Skills: Able to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively, ensuring the smooth execution of events.

* Responsible for onboarding vendors in to Amazon systems and processes, determining SLAs and day to day business relationships.
* Develop production strategies and techniques to scale our business and create strong partnerships.
* Own and build production timelines, sampling processes, and QA
* Evaluate partners' production standards and practices.
* Manage relationships with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Work with logistics to coordinate proper deliveries to FC
*Data entry and tracking data within various internal tools.
* Execute competitive production market analysis
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of product management experience
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in product, program, or project management in leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years apparel industry experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,600/year in our highest geographic market. Our team is looking for a driven, strategic, customer-centric Sourcing and Production Manager to help grow our Music Merchandise business. Music and fashion have been intertwined for decades, and this role will create buzzworthy artist merch collections that authentically connect artists and fans on Amazon, in venue, and around the world.
The Sourcing and Production Manager will assist the Sr Production Manager in driving the ideation around and execution of product development and production process - from initial design concept through bulk production execution. This role will foster partnerships and help create strategies to maximize margin, quality, lead-time and brand goals. The successful candidate will have deep experience in traditional apparel production & screen printing, and must be a creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative production strategies. The candidate should also have their pulse on the trends of the artist merchandise business, including blank and print technique expertise.
