We are looking for a Specialist for top media & entertainment company hybrid out of their Burbank, CA offices! As Specialist, your role is primarily focused on aligning the publishing data in the company's internal recorded music and publishing database systems. You have an affinity for the company, its music and the copyright contained therein. You also have experience with copyright licensing and can work to close licensing gaps resulting from missing metadata alignments between the company's internal systems. Close collaboration with the Copyright Administration and Copyright Licensing & Permissions teams is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities :
- Identify, validate and input correct musical work alignment between Counterpoint and Dnote
- Research potentially misaligned music works between Counterpoint and Dnote
- Request new work registrations from Copyright Administration as needed
- Input updates into Dnote as necessary for third party shares of musical works which are copublished by a company publishing entity
- Collaborate with Copyright Licensing & Permissions to input musical work alignment details from internal licensing reports
- Create internal bulk license schedules for internally published musical works on the company releases as assigned
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Previous Music Publishing Experience
- Attention to detail, organization, time management skills, recording and music publishing industry and label copy knowledge, strong interpersonal skills, intense focus, and clear, concise communication.
- This role requires a strong degree of independence as well as collaborative decision-making to ensure the project meets data alignment timelines.
- Use of Air Table a plus

THE ROLE
Insomniac Events is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Publishing Coordinator to join the Insomniac Music Group team in Los Angeles. This position will assist on day-to-day operations, keep client work and metadata organized, and work within a friendly and inspired setting. This position reports to the Publishing Manager, Insomniac Music Group. This is not a remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES

SMTD is housed in the University Center for the Arts, a nationally recognized state-of the art 350,000 square foot facility, that includes a 550-seat concert hall, a 275-seat organ and chamber music recital hall, a 320-seat thrust theatre, a 100-seat black box theatre, a 200-seat dance theatre, dedicated rehearsal, production and research spaces, along with classrooms, labs and practice rooms.

Position Summary
The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance may seek full time or part time, temporary Music Instructors to teach music industry courses in the music division, and in administrative roles coordinating special programs and developing curricula.
Applicants are added to the pool list throughout the calendar year. Hiring decisions are made during the late spring and early summer for fall semester, during the early fall semester for spring and during the spring semester for the summer term.

Required Job Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Industry, Music Business or other field related to music industry, plus five years of significant professional experience in the music industry, which could include but is not limited to song writing, music publishing, copyright law, music production, audio engineering, music production, digital media, popular music history, depending on the course being taught at CSU .
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Advanced experience in the field within the industry.
+ Documented teaching experience at the college or university level.
+ Master's degree in Music, Music Industry, Music Business or other field related to music industry.

- Two (2) plus years' experience in sync or licensing
- Understanding of music licensing, performance rights, sync licensing, and legal language
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule of four (4) days onsite and one (1) remote
- Pay Range: $20 - $3/hr; depending on experience
- Establish daily priority of projects and follow up to ensure timely delivery of pitches
- Research rights holders and assist in rights clearances
- Soliciting song assets and information from label/artist clients
- Maintain / update Disco database with relevant metadata
- Update contact database
- Prepare reports outlining pitched and placed songs
- Update team with confirmed airdates
- Maintain spreadsheet on pitched songs
- Maintain the sync release schedule
- Liaise between the sync department, other company departments and labels as needed
- Manage documentation for all prospective sync licenses
- Assist in fulfilling direct requests for specific tracks and song information
- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Ability to work independently (and remotely)
