Job Description

The Natural Language Processing (NLP) engineer will join the machine learning team and reports to the director of machine learning and AI. The team is responsible for inventing, developing, and deploying new models and techniques using healthcare data to improve administrative and clinical functions in delivering care. The NLP engineer will contribute to invention, development, and deployment of state-of-the-art NLP tools using large scale healthcare data.

Responsibilities

Designs and implements creative solutions for a broad range of NLP problems in healthcare domain.

Demonstrates deep knowledge of NLP prior art.

Demonstrates proficiency in training and tuning NLP language models for best trade offs for the application.

Collaborates with machine learning and engineering teams for incorporating NLP capabilities into the solution.

Incorporates an expansive set of unit tests to provide reasonable test coverage and protection from regressions.

Characterizes performance of solutions for adequate speed and scale.

Documents solutions clearly and works with QA team to ensure proper testing.

Functions within an agile scrum team, embracing all tenets of scrum.

Masters’ Degree or advanced degree in Linguistics is a plus.

My client are a niche team of NLP and Automated Speech Recognition experts who work in a Research orientated team utlising best practices in searching for “new alpha” in a new R&D trading group. They work on extremely large, noisy data sets with the task of extracting business useful information that is helping shape a new dynamic, industry leading group.
