**Position Description**
Are you a Field Service Engineer looking for a place you can make a difference every day? Serco is searching for an experienced Field Service Engineer in support of The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Public Safety Systems (PSS) Program at the US Naval Academy to includethe Washington DC Metro area.
Serco supports the Commander Naval Installations Command (CNIC) mission to provide and sustain PSS and Emergency Management (EM) Systems. Our team provides both preventive and corrective maintenance services to Navy installations worldwide as a prime on the Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Ashore Global Sustainment Contract (GSC).The mission is to design, procure, integrate, install and sustain the systems/equipment hardware, associated firmware, and software required to provide the ability to protect mission-critical assets and personnel from natural disasters, acts of terrorism and other human-caused disasters.
You will troubleshoot Public Safety Systems (PSS) equipment and assets. Performance is measured by the operational availability of PSS and EM systems. This work includes preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, working directly with our Navy customers to ensure their systems are always operational.
In this role, you will:
+ Install, troubleshoot, and maintain products/equipment including alarms, naval munitions, giant voice, cameras, intrusion detection, emergency operation centers, regional dispatch centers, gates, wide area alert, indoor voice, dispatch activities, and support for regional and emergency operation centers as needed.
+ Train employees, identify, analyze, and repair product failures; order and replaces parts as needed.
+ Be relied upon to determine and recommend which products or services best fit the customers' needs.
+ Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

+ Ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance
+ Be able to travel locally and long distance as needed up to 10% of the time
