+ Perform computations using hand calculations and analytical tools for structural, thermal, hydraulic, and other scoping calculations.
+ Conduct structural analysis for systems, structures, and components, including pressure vessels, piping, nuclear reactor internals, nuclear fuel, and high temperature materials such as graphite.
+ Use finite element analysis (FEA) simulation software, hand calculations, and engineering judgment to assess stress, deformation, degradation behavior, and lifetime mechanical performance of nuclear reactor components.
+ Support the assessment of systems and structures for manufacturability, assembly, and integration.

**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:**
+ Performing static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment, by hand and by using the automated methods and procedures approved for the program
+ Ensuring that designs meet program requirements and are the lightest, lowest cost, and highest quality products consistent with schedule and budget objectives.
+ May derive non-flight applied loads, create, extract, and distribute internal loads and perform weight and stiffness optimization utilizing tools such as FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter and other software applications
+ Candidate must be able to collaborate in a team environment, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result, prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously, and comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.

Salary Range: $63,900.00 - $95,900.00

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Job Description
We are seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to perform advanced structural stress and/or dynamics analysis on components and complete assemblies for an advanced systems development effort. This role involves developing mechanical/physical concepts, designing, and supporting the development of processes for nuclear products or facilities with a focus on safety. You will work closely with key stakeholders and systems engineers to identify, collect, and document requirements, interfaces, design basis, and criteria. Your work will ensure structures and components meet technical specifications and design requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Plan and perform the analysis required to assess aspects of structures and components, ensuring they meet intended functions and technical specifications.
+ Perform computations using hand calculations and analytical tools for structural, thermal, hydraulic, and other scoping calculations.
+ Conduct structural analysis for systems, structures, and components, including pressure vessels, piping, nuclear reactor internals, nuclear fuel, and high temperature materials such as graphite.
+ Use finite element analysis (FEA) simulation software, hand calculations, and engineering judgment to assess stress, deformation, degradation behavior, and lifetime mechanical performance of nuclear reactor components.
+ Support the assessment of systems and structures for manufacturability, assembly, and integration.
+ Develop design documentation, including design basis documents, technical reports, calculations, and drawings in accordance with procedures.
+ Create Verification and Validation (V&V) plans for analytical tools and support the qualification of toolsets.
+ Perform work in accordance with quality procedures for design and configuration management.
+ Provide independent reviews and acceptance reviews of engineering deliverables and data.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with FEA analysis using tools like Ansys, LS-DYNA or related analysis tools.
+ Ability to build own models.
+ Proficiency with engineering hand calculations for stress analysis.
+ Experience with metals (mostly steels) or ceramics, metallurgy, structural steel, alloys, nuclear reactor components.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
+ Proficiency with structural analysis hand calculations and structural FEA software programs (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, FEMAP, CAESAR, ROHR, LS-DYNA, PIPESTRESS).
+ Experience with metals (primarily steels) and/or ceramics (graphite, etc.) is highly desired.
+ A Ph.D. in engineering or related field may substitute for three years of experience.
