Key Responsibilities

• Review and implement customer requirements; such as: Engineering Drawings, Process Specifications and other industry standards. Develop and maintain processes, test methodology and procedures. Understand manufacturing methods and part construction, as it relates to the NDT data.

Job Requirements

• Associate Degree of Applied Science in NDT - The classroom training for the applicable test method and level of certification needed must meet the minimum required per NAS-410
• 4 years work experience in the NDT method(s) and manufacturing processes; certified Level 2 is .
• Employee must have the skills and formal training needed to become certified to NAS 410 level 2 in radiography testing (RT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) and be able to pass an annual eye examination per the requirements of NAS 410.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of NDT theory, methods and procedures, and should have knowledge of NDT technologies, computer systems and conventional and automated testing systems.
• Make and keep precise measurements and keep accurate records.
• Must be able to take instructions and offer advice. The ability to work well with supervising engineers, other technicians, and mechanics is essential because technicians interact with people from other divisions, businesses, and customers.
• Experience applying principles of mathematics for analysis, design, and troubleshooting tasks in their work.

POSITION SUMMARY

Non-destructive testing (NDT) technicians/specialists perform non-destructive tests on aircraft structures and components for flaws that could affect the aircraft or component with regard to airworthiness. The testing processes do not damage the structure or object being tested. Technicians look for corrosion, cracks and flaws which might lead to failure of the components.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  1. Ensure that all non-destructive testing is performed in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.

  3. Performs NDT inspection of aircraft, engines, propellers, accessories, components and materials processed through the repair station.

  5. Ensures that shift turnover procedures are followed and properly documented.
  6. Complies with repair station procedures and company policies.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

  • High School Diploma, A.S. Degree in Aviation preferred

Experience:

  • Generally, 8 years and experience in NDT inspection

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Certified or certifiable in line with ASNT-TC-1A Level II in RT and PT.
  • Basic working knowledge of Digital and Computerized radiographic techniques.

  • ASNT-SNT- TC1A certifiable in the following methods: UT & MT.

Purpose

The Sr. Technologist II, System Engineer Contract-to-Hire role will involve installation, configuration, and daily maintenance of Oceaneering's identity management systems, server operating systems, server virtualization platforms, and other tools associated with infrastructure operations. Job Summary

Provide technical expertise to a variety of nondestructive testing industries. These industries include structural steel, manufacturing, machining, power generation, and petro-chemical. The services provided by the NDT Department are performed to the standards of industry including AWS, ASME, ASTM, API, AISC, and UBC as well as state laws governing professional services. All services will be performed in accordance with AST's QA/QC procedures. The NDT Technician will have an important role in developing the expertise and efficiency of the NDT department.

Responsibilities

  • Drive processes to continuously improve the business, enable next-generation manufacturing, and ensure compliance with all governing specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Administer the facilities NDT Program, responsible for NDT duties to include processes, procedures, techniques, training, qualification, and certification.
  • Experience in implementing or executing NDT processes, have a working knowledge of each technology and its strengths and limitations to ensure the proper inspection technique is used for the task.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, provide technical leadership, and correct NDE processes while maintaining product and process flow.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with customers on items of inspection.

  • Interface with manufacturing to ensure all NDT aspects of customer requirements are understood.
  • Monitor and provide comprehensive reporting on the status of all NDT projects on a regular basis to all necessary parties requiring the information.
  • Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in support of manufacturing and quality as an ASNT NDT
  • Must have a current level II UT certification - Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
  • Shearwave expereince highly preferred
  • Computer literacy (including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Forecast issues in advance to prevent potential impacts; both internally and externally.
  • Able to define, work within and improve business processes based on immediate and future business needs.
