As the **Community Engagement Manager** at QTS Data Centers, you will lead fit for purpose stakeholder strategies to support data center development, operations, and long-term partnerships throughout the life cycle of QTS data centers. This is a leadership role is responsible for crafting and executing engagement plans across local, county, and state levels-ensuring timely alignment with construction milestones, permitting processes, and community-facing priorities. This role has a regional responsibility and will be based in either Fayetteville Georgia or the metro-Atlanta area.
Internally, the position will collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Real Estate, Legal, Government Relations, Marketing & Communications, Operations and Pre-Development to integrate stakeholder engagement into the critical path for site selection, project delivery, and operational success.
**What You Will Do:**
**External Stakeholder Engagement**
+ Build and maintain trust-based relationships with local stakeholders, including local elected officials, community leaders, non-profit civil society organizations, local businesses and government institutions (e.g., schools, economic development administration, etc.)
+ Lead proactive engagement to secure community support and facilitate permitting, entitlement and other critical path objectives.
+ Act as a key point of contact for information sharing, project/DC updates, community concerns and inquiries from the community surrounding QTS projects.
**Strategic Alignment with Internal Teams**
+ Work closely with Real Estate and Pre-Development teams to understand site timelines, infrastructure dependencies and critical path requirements.
+ Work closely Development and Site Operations teams to support project timelines, major initiatives and potential opportunities for community engagement.
+ Partner with Marketing & Communications and Government Relations to align messaging and manage reputational risk
+ Coordinate with Marketing & Communications to ensure narrative consistency across channels
+ Collaborate with Community Impact team to identify and manage third-party partnerships and community investment
**Conflict Resolution & Feedback Management**
+ Lead community feedback and complaint management processes, with escalation pathways and tracking
+ Implement structured conflict resolution and dialogue mechanisms to support operational stability
+ Utilize complaint and feedback tracking integrated with ongoing engagement to identify and manage and/or escalate emerging issues and risks.
**Planning, Execution & Tracking**
+ Conduct and maintain stakeholder analysis, mapping and scenario planning to ensure effective and efficient engagement
+ Develop stakeholder engagement plans integrated with business objectives and project milestones
+ Track engagement activities and outcomes using internal systems; deliver insights to inform strategy
+ Define and report KPIs for engagement efforts including community sentiment, issue resolution, and stakeholder value
+ Provide regular updates to leadership on status, opportunities, and challenges in the region.
**Budget Oversight**
+ Manage stakeholder outreach, engagement and related event budgets
**What You Will Need to be Successful:**
+ Five or more years of experience in community engagement, public affairs, government relations, or a related field.
+ Experience collaborating directly with communities, particularly in industries involving land use, infrastructure, or large-scale development projects.
+ Bachelor's degree in public affairs, Political Science, Communications, Business, or related professional experience.
+ Experience in crisis response and managing public opposition to development projects, demonstrating accountability and action-oriented leadership.
+ Ability to travel regionally, with an estimated 50-75% travel depending on project locations.
**Nice to Have:**
+ Experience in real estate development, energy, mining, or hyperscale projects is a plus.
+ Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data analysis tools to assess community feedback and sentiment is preferred.
+ Military veterans with Civil Affairs Corps experience or professionals with a background in community engagement for regulated industries are strongly encouraged to apply.
+ Exceptional communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in a respectful and solution-driven manner.

Overview:
+ The Community Engagement Manager develops, implements and evaluates community engagement programs to support marketing, community health improvement and other EHC goals.
+ The community engagement manager has lead accountability for the Systems community health benefit tracking and reporting.
+ Works with a variety of departments across the system to develop and execute community engagement strategies to support System business objectives, including DEI, talent acquisition, patient acquisition and fundraising.
+ Specifically works with strategic marketing managers to plan and develop community engagement activities to support service line and/or hospital marketing objectives.
+ Develops, implements and monitors community events, including budget, logistics, staffing, lead generation and on-site project management.
+ Oversees the annual collection and reporting of select community benefit data to meet IRS requirements for Emory Healthcare.
+ Serves as administrator for the community benefit software (CBISA)and provides training and education for System users and works with finance for financial inputs.
+ Promotes and educates EHC employees about community benefit and works with operating units to encourage data capture.
+ Develops processes and systems to make reporting easy for EHC staff.
+ Ensures that data is accurate and compliant with community benefit standards.
+ Meets deadlines to support finances filing of the IRS 990 and Schedule H.
+ Conceptualizes, develops, and measures health education campaigns to support community health improvement and population health and patient acquisition goals.
+ These may be multi-channel efforts including social media, video, talks, events, etc.
+ Oversees the EHC Speakers Bureau.
+ Coordinates talks and presentations in the community, including coordination of all logistics with the community entity which could include promotion, AV support, live-streaming, etc.
+ Recruits speakers for the speakers bureau and maintains speakers bureau database.
+ Tracks EHCs community presence and impact via the Speakers Bureau.
+ Supports sports marketing initiatives.
+ Identifies and builds strategic relationships with churches, civic organizations, municipalities and others in the community to support EHC community engagement priorities.
+ Identifies stories that illustrate EHC's engagement and impact, and works with marketing content team, web team and WHSC communications to deploy those stories across multiple channels.
+ Writes, develops and creates content to support community engagement events or campaigns.
+ Assists with research and assessment of potential community health improvement programs/partnerships.
+ May assist or manage the preparation and distribution of periodic e-newsletter for community partners.
+ Provides concepts and content to increase relevance of community section of the website.
+ Supports sports marketing initiatives.
+ Manages personal workload and projects through departments project management software.

Education:

Job Description
The Community Engagement Specialist (known within Humana as Community Engagement Professional 2) cultivates the organization's social community through community advocacy programs and active engagement with community members. The Community Engagement Specialist work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
**Community Engagement Specialist** act as the bridge between Humana Healthy Horizons and the community, planning and executing outreach programs and events.
They aim to build and sustain relationships within the community, promote the Humana's mission and services, and create opportunities for engagement and participation.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of community issues, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
**Their duties and responsibilities include:**
+ Creating and implementing community outreach programs and initiatives
+ Identifying opportunities for community partnerships and collaborations
+ Organizing and managing community events, workshops, and meetings
+ Communicating with the community members to understand their needs and expectations
+ Collaborating with other team members to promote the organization's services and offerings
+ Representing the organization at community events and meetings
+ Coordinating volunteers and managing their tasks and schedules
+ Maintaining records of community engagement activities and preparing
+ Developing strategies to increase community involvement and engagement
+ Working with marketing and communications teams to promote community events and initiatives
**Use your skills to make an impact**
**Required Qualifications**
+ 2+ years' experience as a Community Engagement Specialist or similar role
+ Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office to include, Word, Excel, Power Point
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
+ Understanding of community issues and dedication to addressing the needs of the community
+ Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
+ Must reside in the state of Virginia and travel 3-5 days a week - multiple positions open in Central, Northern and Southwest VA
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with presenting
+ Experience in Managed Care or Health Insurance
+ Prior experience with Medicare & Medicaid recipients.
+ Knowledge of community health and social service agencies and additional community resources.
+ Community engagement and event experience is a plus.
+ At least one to three years of professional communications experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
**Travel**
+ 3-5 days a week - Central, Northern and Southwest VA
+ Must have a Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the state, as required
+ This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits.
**Work At Home Requirements**
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:
+ At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is required.
+ Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
+ Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
+ Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
+ Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$45,400 - $61,300 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
