In addition to base pay and night shift differential, full-time night shift RNs can participate in UCHealth's night shift incentive pay program upon completion of orientation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience.
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Relevant certification as determined at position level.
- 6 months of Women and Infants nursing (RN) experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program.
- NRP within 6 months of hire.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

About the Role
As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse, you will perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement and evaluate care for infants. Collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team ensures that our patients receive safe, accurate, and compassionate care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending deliveries and performing stabilization assessments on newborns.
- Creating and revising care plans based on individual patient responses.
- Ongoing assessment of infants and effective communication with medical team members.
- Administering medications and treatments in accordance with hospital policies.
- Assisting transport teams to ensure the safe transfer of infants.
- Providing family education on homecare and support resources.
- Supporting high-risk deliveries and assisting with resuscitation efforts.
- Delegating tasks appropriately to non-licensed staff.
Qualifications
Experience: At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience is required. Preferred experience in an acute care setting.
Education: An Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License (must obtain Texas license within 90 days of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required.
- Registered Nurse, Certified in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) is preferred.
