We have multiple opportunities for NavMPS CSR -Shiprider positions: The NavMPS CSR -Shiprider will deploy on board us Naval vessels for extended periods of time, to include applicable work-up cycle and deployment underway periods. Travel to support other Naval Air Stations and Marine Corps Air Stations in both CONUS and OCONUS is also required for this position.
Responsibilities
+ Act as primary liaison between PMA-281 and the Fleet NavMPS user as an embedded member of the Carrier Airwing Staff
+ Provide NavMPS-specific Administration/Data Base Administration advanced training for all NavMPS users Assist aircrew with mission planning when using NavMPS programs
+ Maintain constant visibility with all NavMPS users in order to facilitate a rapid response to problem resolution, training issues, and general day-to-day operations
+ Provide cross-platform training and guidance to less experienced team members and team members from co-located programs outside of the mission planning environment
+ Install and configure NavMPS software on all applicable NavMPS assets
+ Install, integrate, test and secure site unique software applications as approved by PMA-281Create, maintain, and manage system administrator and user accounts for all applicable NavMPS assets
+ Provide technical advice, subject matter expertise, recommendations and advice to the government customer in support of defining and prioritizing requirements; designing and engineering system upgrades, replacements, and new solutions; and purchasing hardware and software solutions
+ Provide technical support for the preparation of documentation for installation, testing, service transition, continuity of operations, disaster response and recovery, and other standard operating procedures
+ Coordinate with enterprise network, web, database, and information assurance engineers and administrators for all installation, testing, integration, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting activities
+ Monitor, administer, document and report on system security posture in accordance with DoD and local information assurance guidance and policy
+ Prepare, pre-configure and test deployable equipment packages for remote connection and operation, train users and support personnel on system set-up and operation, and provide remote support to deployed personnel
+ Support CM and QA practices by adhering to configuration management and change control policies and procedures
+ Maintains current knowledge of relevant and emerging technologies as assigned
Qualifications
+ Education / Certifications:
+ AS or AA in Computer Science, Information Systems or a "Relevant Technical Discipline"
+ ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION:
+ Military service in an IT-related rating/MOS, may be substituted for an AS or AA degree.
+ Four (4) years of experience in support of Defense IT systems may be substituted for a AA/AS or Military service in an IT-related rating/MOS.
+ Experience:
+ At least three (3) years' of experience with DOD C4ISR systems which includes 24/7/365 help desk support, conducting training, on-site technical support, and underway/deployed CVN's, LSD's, LHA's, DDG's, CVW's, MAG's, MEF's, or USN/USMC Squadrons.
+ Microsoft Office 365
+ Other Qualifications
+ Must be physically able to lift/maneuver 100 lbs

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This role will be supporting the U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFF) Headquarters (HQ) at USFF Norfolk, Virginia at a Government facility/site. As a member of their USFF Communications and Information Systems Division (N6) Support Team, you will significantly contribute to Navy Fleet Readiness and Homeland Security. The team is involved in information technology (IT) support tasks including but are not limited to Program Management support, Network Engineering support, Maritime Operations Center/Tactical Systems support, Video Teleconferencing and Audio/Visual support, Portal Management and Application Development support, Staff IT Business Process/IT Services support, Satellite Communications Planning support, Information Assurance (IA)/Certification and Accreditation support, Database Administration support, Communications Security/EKMS support, and general IT support, as well as maintenance, updating and enhancement of developed application/software.
Job Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of network professionals in the operations and maintenance of the Headquarters SECRET, NATO, Coalition and UNCLASSIFIED networks and associated hardware and software
• Provide IT engineering and technical services and support for a broad assortment of system engineering and support functions.
• Provide direct support services for overall and complete operation and maintenance of the Headquarters SECRET, NATO, Coalition and UNCLASSIFIED networks and associated hardware and software
• Conducts short-and long-term planning and develop POAM to meet network requirements.
• Provides high-level technical support for Video Teleconferencing/voice/data network systems, creates and maintains network documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved communication equipment and procedures.
• Perform hands on configuration of CISCO IOS on Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
• Plans and monitors the installation/upgrades of network equipment and associated infrastructure.
• Analyzes network activity and network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors.
• Provides support for network connectivity or related network issues for the command. Recommends network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.
• Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves network problems. Researches, analyzes and recommends the implementation of software or hardware changes to rectify any network deficiencies or to enhance network performance.
• Analyzes facility's bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies. Develops capacity planning models.
• Ensures planned testing activities are performed and technical criteria are met.
• Assesses network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the command.
• Use of enterprise system monitoring and management tools such as Wireshark, Websense, Solar Winds and NMAP.
• Uses commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide network services, including: firewalls, Cisco Firepower, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), TACACS+, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, ACS, VPN, NAC, 802.1x, C2C (Comply-to-Connect), and Cisco ISE.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science or other related field and 2 years of related experience, or AA/AS related field or Computer Network Administration Certification and 8 years of related experience. In lieu of formal education, 10 experience specifically related to the below qualification requirements
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Candidates who do not currently possess the CCNP certification, but meet all other minimum requirements, may be considered for this position. If selected, the candidate will be required to obtain the required certification within a twelve (12) month time period.
• Advanced knowledge and in-depth experience of the Defense Information Systems Agency published STIG requirements and implementation/compliance process.
• Knowledge and in-depth experience of CND compliance requirements and tools for all managed networks and systems.
• Must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
• Advanced knowledge and in-depth experience of IOS, EIGRP, BGP, GRE, IPS/IDS, TACACS+, ACS and OSPF.
• Advanced knowledge of 802.1x, C2C (Comply-to-Connect), and Cisco ISE.
• Must have an active secret clearance.
• Must have CompTIA Sec+
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to analyze network performance data and identify areas for improvement.
• Ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex network problems.

Evaluate communication hardware and software, as well as troubleshoot Local Area Networks/Base Area Networks/Wide Area Networks (LAN/BAN/WAN), and other network related problems. Administer LAN/BAN/WANs. Schedule conversions and cutovers. Coordinate with all responsible users and sites. Specialized experience in the performance and configuration of networks as well as the integration and testing of complex large-scale computer integrated networks. Must possess an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) network support certification such as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
